An ever green and always fun video game genre is that of auto racing . A variant of this genre has been made famous by Mario Kart, a Nintendo game where there is no realistic driving simulation but, much more simply, you have to run faster than the others, collect bonuses to go faster, weapons or traps to damage opponents and get adrenaline to try to finish first.
These arcade racing games take on a higher value and become more exciting when you can compete with real and human opponents, not therefore playing against the computer but online in a multiplayer tournament .
Looking for some free games of this type I have tried four really fun and fast that should satisfy those looking for not boring challenges, not too reasoned and of pure killer instinct.

The only prerequisite for playing these racing games between karts or cars is the internet connection.
If you want to try them, as they are all quite heavy, while you download one or if you want to play one on the fly, you can spend time with the GoKartGo flash game! Nitro!, a fun Mario Kart style race, with bonuses and weapons, to be played directly on the Miniclip website.
1) Nintendo's original Mario Kart can be played online in an HTML5 version that works on any web browser, both on smartphones and PCs.
2) A very nice multiplayer and opensource game, to be played on the pc for free, similar to Mario Kart is SuperTuxKart .
SuperTuxKart has a huge choice of surprising characters and songs to listen to while you race. This is just a remake of Mario Kart which, being multiplayer, becomes exaggeratedly fun with racing to the death, between bonuses and power-ups, in a nice-to-see graphics, suitable for children but which also entertains the older ones. SuperTux Kart is available for Windows, Linux and Mac.
Karts can be customized with a wide variety of accessories and designs.
The maps and the routes to be tackled are also many and full of obstacles such as holes, rivers, narrow passages and so on.
The 3D graphics are excellent and beautiful to watch for a free game, the background sounds, as often happens for this genre of games, instead remains a bit repetitive. The best feature is the playability, the controls are the basic ones and the car can be driven with the arrows of the computer, forward, right and left. By driving well and using bonuses wisely like Boost acceleration or by setting traps and damaging opponents, players who are 10 levels ahead can also be beaten.
A really fun and undemanding Kart game is Go Kart Go . Since it is very easy to learn, you can immediately get to the heart of the game and challenge even the most experienced players so the competition between the players is always very high.
3) Similar to the previous one and always inspired by Mario Kart is the very old Tux Racer .
4) Not My Car, free on Steam, is a game of the type Car Combat with 3D graphics, of the Battle Rayale genre, which lets you vent all those who, when driving, would like to buffer and destroy the car of those who make wrong maneuvers or risky overtaking . The goal of the game is definitely to finish first in the race, running faster but also trying to destroy opponents . The machines will be equipped with machine guns, missile launchers and mines to be launched against other cars.
The game is completely multiplayer, in the sense that you can only play if you are connected to the internet and always against real opponents.
You can still train in training mode or in Time Attack mode whose goal is to beat the track record.
The other game modes are the normal race, without weapons and the race without rules where you shoot during the race and do not spare bullets and violent collisions. The graphics are really well done, the game runs fast (unless the servers are clogged).
UpShift Strike Racer is free unless you want to buy accessories and embellishments for the car which should not be decisive in the races anyway (although having more powerful weapons will certainly give you some advantage).
