Best Apps to visit the works of museums around the world (iPhone and Android)

During the holiday periods and holidays you can find time for a trip or simply a guided tour of a museum.
If you can't, with a smartphone or tablet in your hand, you can virtually visit several museums in the world and read captions and descriptions of the individual works of art useful both during the real visit, and to prepare before going, or just to see, as in an interactive documentary, the main works of that museum without going there.
In this list we see 9 apps for iPhone and Android with which you can virtually visit the best museums in the world, also including some applications that provide tourist information, images, photos and descriptions of the works of art to use when going to the city where there is is that museum.
1) Google Arts & Culture for Android and iPhone is the best app ever to virtually visit the main museums and archaeological sites in the world with truly well-made 360-degree tours, which seems to be really there.
Thanks to the high resolution photos it is possible to look at pictures in an ultra detailed way.
Like any Google app, this one dedicated to art also provides a powerful search engine to find cultural information on everything, event or place.
2) MoMA, the museum of modern art in New York, has its app for both Android and for iPhone and iPad so you can see behind the scenes of the new exhibitions or to browse through the collection of works by MoMA.
The MoMA App is used to discover current exhibitions, schedule a visit, browse or search for the tens of thousands of works in the collection, see multimedia tours and get to know the artists.
3) Guggenheim, the other museum in New York, has its app for iPhone and Android that graphically reflects the architectural style of the building.
There are audio tours and virtual visits to the current exhibitions and you can see the museum's permanent collections.
For: Apple and Android Devices
4) Louvre Museum, to see the Mona Lisa more closely as the painting is protected by a bulletproof glass case in the Louvre, and there is a distant barrier that prevents you from seeing it well.
You can also visit the luxurious apartment of Napoleon and all the various sections, that of ancient Greece, the Italian Renaissance, ancient Egypt etc.
The Louvre app is available for iPhone and iPad and for Android.
5) American Museum of Natural History is an iPhone-only app that includes all the museum's attractions, including dinosaurs.
6) National Gallery of London is another iPhone-only app that allows you to take a mini-tour with audio guides, detailed information and the ability to zoom in on 250 works of art.
7) Uffizi is the official app for visiting the museum of Florence using the iPhone as a guide.
8) Italian museums (iPhone and Android) is an app to have guides on Italian museums, with all the information to reach them, on the days and opening hours, on prices, on works to see and much more.
To conclude, I remember the sites with virtual tours of online museums and monuments such as Google Art Project, Google Earth and Arounder.com itself, described in another article.
