Better a tablet or an ebook-reader to read electronic books?

Books have always been great companions in moments of tranquility and leisure, they have always been present in the lives of many people and, in addition to having fun, they help develop new ideas and improve the use of language. Although today we read much less than in the past, technology offers interesting alternatives to the classic paper book thanks to e-books, to all effects of the books in which the pages are in electronic format, therefore readable on the screen of a tablet or a specific device called an e-book reader; but which device should be chosen to read electronic books "> Download free Italian books to read (eBook, pdf, epub)

Advantages and disadvantages of a tablet when reading ebooks

The tablet is certainly the most used device for reading electronic books, since most of the time it is sufficient to install an app to start reading the books in PDF format or in one of the proprietary formats (for example to read the books of Amazon just download the Amazon Kindle app, available here -> Amazon Kindle (Android) and Amazon Kindle (iPad)).
The advantages of a tablet in reading e-books are numerous: you can read the book on a screen in a larger format (especially on 8-inch tablets upwards), you can adjust the brightness, use other apps while reading (for example the web browser or a dictionary) and possibly immediately share fragments of text or quotes on chats or on favorite social networks. Many tablets have a convenient reading feature (or reading mode) that can automatically adjust the screen brightness based on the ambient brightness, thus reducing eye strain during longer readings. Some tablets also feature a night mode, where inverted colors allow you to read in the dark without disturbing others and further reducing eye fatigue.
The disadvantages of the tablet in reading e-books are quite well known and can be a strong deterrent in the use of tablets in reading: the battery drains faster during use (since the screen must remain on while reading), the screen brightness in the long run tired view (given the use of LCD screens) and the rendering of characters does not come close to that obtainable with specific devices such as e-book readers or the classic paper book.

Advantages and disadvantages of an e-book reader in reading electronic books

E-book readers are optimized for reading electronic books, therefore they have considerable advantages: the screen of the e-book readers faithfully reproduce the characters thanks to the use of e-Ink screens, where the ink is polarized and positioned via electromagnetic fields to reproduce characters (in fact it seems to read a real paper book even if on screen!), and consequently the absence of LCD screens significantly increases battery life (which can even reach 2-3 weeks) . The e-book readers allow you to read any type of electronic book (both PDF and specific formats such as ePub or Mobi), to use the integrated bookmarks, to navigate the book index and to emulate in an almost perfect way the reading obtainable with a paper book.
The disadvantages of e-book readers are however sufficient to make the user think about their use: the e-Ink screen is severely limited in the reproduction of colored illustrations or graphics, it is not possible to use other types of apps (at most the dictionary integrated or the Web browser optimized for reading from e-Ink) and in fact it is not expandable as a tablet can be (which in addition to reading allows you to do many other things).
