Google Calendar, the application that works like a digital agenda, has always worked well, but it was not very convenient because it required manual entry of important appointments and dates. The latest update (for now only available for Android smartphones and tablets ), in addition to bringing new graphics consistent with that of Android 5 Lollipop, has added an important function to the Calendar application that can now be integrated with Gmail .
In practice, when for example you book a restaurant, a hotel or an airplane flight and you receive confirmation of the dates on Gmail, they are automatically added to the Calendar.
Especially those who travel a lot will find this synchronization very useful and can have a personal register always updated, with all the data of each booking and trip.
The Calendar application will also show notifications on your smartphone about these events and those connected to it.
For example, if an airplane flight is delayed, you will receive a notice.
For each event on the calendar it is also possible to add the map of the place where you have to go and the phone number of a contact.
To add an event just touch the plus sign in the lower right corner.
For each event, such as the date of a birthday, the app guides the user through suggestions and a kind of auto-compilation that makes everything faster.
To tie Google Calendar to Gmail instead you have to go to the settings (by touching the three lines at the top left) and enable the " Events from Gmail " option.
From that moment the emails received regarding appointments or reservations will automatically create events on the calendar.
the calendar now not only a simple list of dates and times, but also includes images and maps of the places where you have to go, with photos of travel destinations and illustrations related to different types of events such as dinner.
