If we are at the cinema or in a meeting and we cannot control who writes us a message, as well as putting silent mode so as not to disturb the attention and those around us, it may be useful to set up an automatic responder to warn those who have written to us that we are unavailable until a certain time. On Android smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy and Huawei mobiles it is quite simple to configure automatic replies for messages received via SMS and also for messages received on Whatsapp, using the right application. It's all about finding and installing the right application.
If we just need to set up automatic replies for SMS messages and missed calls, then the app to use is SMS Auto Reply Text Message, free and easy to use. With this application you can activate and deactivate the responder which can also be programmed for automatic activation only at certain times of the day or on particular days of the week. It is therefore possible to create different profiles with personalized reply messages, which can also be different based on the contact who wrote us.
It is therefore possible to choose to automatically reply to SMS received from only a few people or to create a list of exceptions to be excluded from the automatic reply. Using this type of app obviously requires you to grant permission to read SMS, the phone book and calls.
Another application that can be configured to send automatic replies via SMS is IFTTT for Android which allows, in particular, to send personalized SMS when you are in a certain place, to specific numbers. With IFTTT it is also possible to activate an auto-responder to SMS messages received from certain numbers, auto-reply to SMS messages containing a certain text. IFTTT is useful, however, only if to send automatic replies to a limited number of people.
To use SMS with IFTTT you only need to activate the Android SMS channel in addition to installing the application.
To send automatic replies to Whatsapp messages you have to go and try some not too popular and very advertising-rich apps.
The one that works best is IM Autoreply where you can set up a personalized message that your contacts will get every time they write to us. Easy to set up, it sends an automatic reply to specific people every time they send us a message.
AutoResponder for WhatsApp is also very good for creating a predefined reply message to be sent only to some contacts or to all without distinction, or to be used only if the received message contains certain words. When this application is activated, the automatic responder is activated immediately for all received messages. In the app settings you can write the reply message, make sure to exclude the Whatsapp groups and configure a delay in seconds, so that the automatic reply is sent only after this period of time. However, there is no way to limit the automatic reply to only a few contacts.
You can still program the activation of the automatic responder using one of the apps to configure scheduled automatic actions.
