Install Chrome Extensions on Android

Google Chrome is the most used browser by over 65% of users worldwide, both on PC and on smartphones.
The main advantages of Chrome and also the key to the success it has had lies in the ability to synchronize data between computer and mobile phone and, above all, in being able to increase its functions thanks to the numerous extensions organized in the Chrome Web Store, which is unparalleled for other browsers.
The only problem is that the Android version of Google Chrome doesn't support extensions.
This is a choice made by Google so as not to give users the possibility to weigh down the Chrome browser by making it slow on less powerful smartphones.
However, if we need to use extensions on Android than those designed for Chrome that are used on the PC, it is possible to do so by installing an alternative browser based on Chrome and which supports the installation and addition of extensions, namely Yandex Browser .

The Yandex browser is very popular in Russia, it is practically identical to Chrome because it is based on the same open source project Chromium and Google's Blink rendering engine. The additional functions of Yandex lead it to become an alternative to Chrome to be kept as a secondary browser installed on the smartphone to be used when needed. In addition to the ability to install extensions, it also includes Opera Turbo technology to speed up browsing and downloading over slow Internet connections and uses Kaspersky to quickly scan downloaded files to make sure they are not viruses.
The best part of Yandex Browser on Android however is its support for Chrome extensions from the webstore .
After downloading and installing Yandex Browser, (it is in Italian) you can go to the chrome.google.com/webstore website to open the Chrome extensions page and search for the one you want to use on your Android phone. From the presentation page, you can then press the button at the top right to add the Chrome extension to Yandex .
To access the extension and use it or configure the options, you must open a new tab (not the home page) in Yandex and then press the button with three dots next to the address bar. You will then see the menu of extensions and the possibility to select those installed by the Chrome Web Store. The Yandex browser also has native support for some extensions which can be viewed by pressing " other extensions " in the extensions menu. Recommended ones include LastPass, Pocket and Evernote.
Another browser based on Google Chrome that supports extensions is Kiwi Browser, very fast, very modern and expandable. To install extensions in Kiwi, open a tab inside it by writing chrome: // extensions in the address bar of the Kiwi Browser and activate the developer mode. You can then open the Chrome Web Store in desktop mode (link) to install the extensions in Kiwi.
Alternatively, another way to get a browser with extensions on Android is definitely to use Firefox .
With Firefox for Android it is possible, as already explained, to install Chrome extensions on Firefox .
To do this, from the Chrome Store, you must install the Foxified Chrome Store extension in Firefox on Android. At this point, you can go to the Chrome Web Store and add Chrome extensions to Firefox.
In the tests made, the use of Chrome extensions on the Yandex browser and on Kiwi works better than the installation on Firefox. Obviously, however, those who use Firefox will already find many extensions ready for the Mozilla browser, without the need for the Chrome Web Store.
