Magnify text and icons on Windows without blurring

Those who use a large screen or with a high resolution (more or less starting from 1920x1080 ) will notice, on Windows, the typical problem of icons and small text .
This is not a defect, but the consequence of the fact that the screen space widens by setting the higher resolution.
The solution to this problem is certainly not to lower the resolution, because the visual quality supported by the screen would also decrease.
Instead, it is necessary to increase the size of the text and icons of the system, in order to enlarge the writing on the desktop and in every window and program, without losing visual quality and without seeing blurred characters.

To find the options to adjust the size of the elements, on Windows 8 and Windows 7, you need to go to the Control Panel and then to the Display section.
In Screen, you can choose whether to use an element sizing of 125% or 150% . If the desktop icons and text are still too small, click on the " enlarge or reduce size of text and other elements " link in the same resolution window to access the customized resizing options where you can increase the size of all items in percent, going above 150% which is the maximum allowed by the system options.
In Windows 10, the options to enlarge or reduce the size of text and icons on the screen are in Settings> System> Screen, where you can move a cursor under the words " Change app text size and other elements ". In Windows 10 you can enlarge every element of the system up to 175%.
A novelty of Windows 10 is present in this window where you can press on the advanced resizing settings to avoid a decrease in visual quality following an enlargement of the text and to choose to enlarge text and icons with a personalized value, for example at 110% .
Apply and restart the computer to finally have all the Windows writings and icons at the appropriate size to enjoy a screen at maximum resolution.
Note that, on the desktop, the icons can be enlarged or made smaller by pressing the right button on the blank, then going to View and choosing whether to see large, small or medium icons or by holding down the CTRL key and moving the mouse wheel.
If you want to enlarge the screen or some part of it temporarily, you can always use the magnifying glass tool, which is found from the Accessibility Center menu in the Control Panel. The magnifying glass of Windows works in full screen or as a lens that enlarges what is framed by the mouse or even in an anchored way, showing the enlarged screen in a space at the top.
