How to keep your smartphone always charged (with portable batteries)

If every day we notice that the phone's battery charge has already dropped to 37 percent or a little more, there is a problem and we must take action to be able to arrive safely until the evening. If the battery runs out quickly, maybe we use the phone a lot or the battery simply lost power and lasts less than it did when the smartphone was new (especially if more than 2 years have passed).
The fact is that the evolution of cell phones (increasingly thin and more powerful) has not followed the same evolution of batteries, which instead last less and less.
Luckily, to keep the phone always charged when going around, you can add to provide your smartphone with an additional charge in different ways, as we will see below.

The case connects to the phone port and remains permanently connected becoming part of the smartphone, providing an input for the charging cable.
Technically, all one does is add a separate battery to carry around with the phone at the expense of obviously of a greater thickness (the smartphone will inevitably be thicker and less beautiful to look at). When the main battery is discharged, simply press a switch to recharge it using the additional one incorporated in the case; on some models the recharge is automatic and starts as soon as it drops below a certain value, so as to always have the phone charged. This is probably the ideal option for most phones, especially for iPhones for which there are many models of battery cases.
To buy a cover with battery for your smartphone you can search on Amazon.it, perhaps specifying in the search box the cell phone model you have (we can refine the search by indicating the specific model of smartphone).

Replace the battery with a more powerful one

Most modern smartphones do not give any possibility of replacing the battery.
For those who still have the removable battery, you can instead change the battery and buy a new one that is bigger and more powerful or get another original battery to use as a reserve of energy.

You can then check the power delivered by your battery, expressed in mAh, and check on Amazon if there is any bigger one looking for "7200mAh increased battery" and phone name.
The smartphone, in this case too, will become heavier and bigger (in fact, in addition to the battery, the back cover is also changed to accommodate the enhanced battery). This solution is rapidly falling into disuse because the batteries are no longer easily replaceable by users, therefore slowly this feature (replaceable battery) will disappear completely.

Buy a portable battery (Powerbank)

The portable charger is nothing more than an external battery, to be kept in your bag or pocket, which can be used as an energy reserve for any type of smartphone, even the most recent ones and equipped with quick charge. To use it, simply connect the portable battery to the phone with a cable every time we need a fast charge and you cannot connect the normal charger to a power outlet. The advantage is that this external battery can also be used to charge other devices, such as the tablet.
There are several portable chargers on Amazon, of different prices depending on the power and the number of refills they can do. We have listed below what we consider the best models suitable for any smartphone, with an eye to the models compatible with Qualcomm's QuickCharge fast charging systems.
  • POWERADD Slim2 Portable Battery 20000mAh (10 €)

4) Save battery without spending
If we do not want to buy anything, just read the other articles we have created on the site to increase battery life or prolong efficiency over time:
  • Find out which apps are killing the battery (Android)
  • 18 Android app to save cell phone battery
  • Increase battery life on iPhones, mobiles and smartphones
  • How often do you charge your cell phone / laptop battery to extend its life?
  • How to store charge in batteries of electronic devices
Reading these guides we will be able to save a lot of energy (in particular by applying energy saving systems) and to extend the life even after many years, without forgetting that wear also affects the batteries and after the first 2 years the ability to maintain a high level of charge can be reduced even up to 50%, so if the phone is quite old, better apply a battery cover or get a large power bank.
Finally, remember that you can also recharge your smartphone by attaching the charging cable to any computer or even to the TV or any other electronic device that has a USB port, even if in this case the recharge will be considerably slower.
