Google / Gmail account recovery in case of login problems

For those who surf the internet, for those who use an Android smartphone and for those who use apps such as Youtube, Blogger, Maps and Gmail, the Google account is clearly the most important, the one that includes the most sensitive personal data within it.
In a Google account there are the inbox with Gmail, the history of the searches made, the history of the videos viewed, the list of contacts on the phone, the backups of Whatsapp (if you use Android), the directions to your favorite places and towards home, payment data for the Google Play Store and then much more depending on the services used.
A problem on the Google account can panic any user because if you can no longer log in with the username and password of the account and there are terrible errors or messages such as "the account does not exist" or "the account is locked".
Google also does not have customer service, human support to ask for assistance and everything remains in the hands of the user who has to move alone to find a solution to the login problems.
In this article we try to make a guide for recovering Google and Gmail accounts and above all we see all the possible solutions to enter the personal account and solve errors and login problems .
To begin with we see that, to enter Gmail the exact internet address is //mail.google.com (attention, gmail.it is another thing and has nothing to do with Google Mail).
The login to the Google account should instead be made by accessing the link at the top right visible on the homepage of the search engine www.google.com or www.google.it, always making sure that the address of each google site starts with https or //www.google.com/.
If these links don't open, there is likely to be a temporary connection issue or a system administrator or firewall to block access to Google.
A Google Account is managed in all its options from the web page reachable at //myaccount.google.com/ .
A first reason why you can't log in may be due to browser errors .
Clear your browser cache and cookies and try again.
Attempting to access the Google account with a different browser: in addition to Internet Explorer you can surf the internet with Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome.
Use a different computer or even a mobile phone or smartphone that can surf the internet.
Connection problems are also due to temporary factors that cannot be managed by the user, for example it has happened in the past that Gmail went offline.
To be on the safe side, you can check if a site is offline and unreachable for everyone.
Clearly, if Google shows no problems and, by writing your username and password, you are unable to enter Gmail or even log in to the Google account and any other service, there is an error to be solved.
The causes of a problem logging in to Google and Gmail can be:
- because the username is not accepted or is considered non-existent.
- because the password is incorrect or is not remembered;
- because the account is locked (sometimes the warning says that the account does not exist but that that username cannot be used by anyone else).
If you came across this page because you are looking for a solution to the login problem in Gmail, Blogger, Adsense or any other Google service, you will probably have understood that this type of problem is very common and not so rare.
Read in the forums many requests for help for account blocked, hacked, canceled for violation of the terms of service or for other reasons.
The most common mistake is that the username or password entered is incorrect.
This is indeed a frequent and human error because you can be 100% certain of the accuracy of the data and then realize that it was not so.
So before you panic, make sure you're not mistaking your password or username.
As written in a previous post, you can recover an Email account even if compromised through the secondary Email address registered on Gmail or the phone number.
To recover the username you can go to this page while to recover the Google and Gmail password you can do the recovery wizard
Keep in mind that the username is in most cases an email address and that all Gmail accounts can use the email address as a username .
You can then reset your password and reset it from scratch to log in again from the Google homepage.
For Google and Gmail account recovery it is important that you have the following recovery data:
- recovery email address
- recovery mobile phone number.
The recovery via secret question option is no longer active, because it is considered insecure.
The recovery process will still ask you to answer some questions to make sure that the person making the request is the true owner of the account.
Some of the questions are:
- Last password you remember.
- Get a verification code via text message to your secondary email address or personal phone number.
- Confirm the phone number provided.
- Who was my favorite comic book hero?
- When did you create this Google Account?
- What's your father's middle name?
- Get a verification code from the Google Authenticator app.
- Enter one of the backup codes you received from Google.
If you have set up Google access and Gmail login with two-step verification, explained in detail in another article, it was a very wise move.
In this case, however, it is better to always write down the backup codes, which are fixed codes useful for recovering access to the account even without a mobile phone.
If you suspect that someone else has made an unauthorized access to your Google account or to your Gmail mailbox, you need to reset and change your password immediately using the recovery form (link a few lines above).
If you do not have a secondary recovery address or a valid phone number or if the hacker has changed the password recovery email address, there will be no possibility to reset, therefore you must activate a different procedure by filling out the following form by replying to the questions (in Italian) and specifying if you are using Gmail or Blogger.
Questions also asked to provide the addresses of five users registered in the contact directory, the date of account creation or the date of the last successful login.
If after all the completed forms still have not been able to recover the account, there are several ways to contact Google, including that of asking for direct assistance with a human contact.
You can also contact Google by writing a message on the official Gmail forum .
In general, after a few days, everything should return to normal.
