Maximize window scroll bars in Windows

If, as is now normal, we use a larger 23 or 27-inch monitor with 16/9 aspect ratio, it becomes convenient to use the horizontal space and optimize the vertical one instead.
In other words, it is convenient that the Windows desktop, windows and menus are extended horizontally, leaving as much space as possible vertically.
An example of this configuration is to move the Windows toolbar vertically to the side, without keeping it in its traditional position at the bottom.
Another way to use space horizontally is to move the browser tabs vertically and, where possible, also the bookmarks bar.
In this article we will discover another interesting way to use the large horizontal space of the PC monitor, that is to enlarge the scroll bars of the windows, in order to make them bigger and easier to use.

Scroll bars are those that appear to the right of each window, which are used to scroll content up or down.
You can see this bar in every word document longer than a page, in blog and newspaper web pages, in Facebook, in Google search results, in Windows windows and in almost every PC program.
The size of the scroll bar of Windows windows is governed by a registry key, but can be changed easily through a simple program.
The registry key is located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WindowMetrics and is called ScrollWidth .
The program to use to change the size of the scroll bar in every window and program in Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 is WinAero Tweaker, already mentioned among the best Tweaking programs to modify everything in Windows 10.
Then download Winaero Tweaker from the download link, then install and run it to open the interface with the options to be changed.
The one that controls the width of the window scroll bars is found by looking on the left for the Advanced Appearance Settings section, under Scrollbars .
On the right you can then change the width of the scrollbar bar and that of the buttons.
Once enlarged, press Apply and then log out or restart the PC to see the change.
