Install AMD graphics driver and Radeon Settings

One of the main components of desktop or laptop computers is the video card.
On the market there are different types of video card but you can safely say that 95%, on a PC or laptop there is either an AMD video card, or Nvidia or Intel.
As for the AMD video card (ex ATI), whoever mounts it, may notice, on Windows, a process in the task manager called ccc.exe or AMD
This process is installed by the AMD driver package for the graphics card and, precisely, is the AMD Catalyst Control Center .
CCC stands for Catalyst Control Center, and is part of the utilities that are accompanied by drivers.
Today Catalyst Control Center has been replaced with the Radeon Settings program

In fact, the Radeon Settings is the configuration panel of the AMD video card and allows you to customize the settings of the screen, 3D animations and many other parameters.
The process is always active because in this way you can change the video profiles with shortcut keys, without having to tinker every time.
Typically, it is noted on the computer for the presence of a red icon of the AMD, in the taskbar, near the clock.
Although Radeon is an absolutely safe program that should not give any problems, it consumes memory and, if you are not using your computer for video games or if you have no intention of creating video profiles or customizing the card settings, you can remove it .
To begin with, you can get rid of the icon at the bottom right so that it no longer appears.
To do this, you can simply right-click on the AMD symbol near the clock and hide it.
In this way it no longer appears on the screen and you save some resources.
You can then completely uninstall AMD Radeon and then the AMD control panel, without removing the drivers.
By going to the Windows installation and uninstallation window, from the Control Panel, you can easily uninstall the Catalyst Control Panel or AMD Radeon Settings by following the normal removal procedure.
It is also possible to completely uninstall the entire package, including drivers.
If the choice is to reinstall the video card drivers from scratch, without AMD Radeon Settings, then you have to go to Device Manager or Device Manager from the system properties or from the Windows Control Panel.
In the list of devices there is the entry Video cards which includes the graphics card detected by the computer.
By right-clicking on it, you can start updating the driver software and start the automatic search.
If it doesn't find anything, then you have to install the driver manually by downloading it from the AMD Download site.
The AMD Driver Download site, for AMD Radeon video cards and other models, allows you to choose whether to download the entire package that includes the Radeon Control Center, or to download only the Drivers .
The important thing to know is that the AMD Radeon Settings is independent of the smooth running of the AMD graphics card and is separate from the drivers .
Also remember that when updating AMD video card drivers, you must always uninstall the old ones first.
