Explore iPhone from PC also to copy files like a USB stick

The iPod is a device that allows you to listen to music and do many other things, very particular, as it has a management of the files that are loaded into the memory hidden from the users.
In fact, it is impossible to use an Ipod as if it were a USB stick or an external hard disk because there is no possibility to manage internal folders.
Music files, videos, images and applications are loaded onto the iPod using the Itunes management software automatically with the synchronization process.
Finally we can present a program that instead allows you to use the memory of an Ipod, Ipod Touch or IPhone, like that of any external disk or USB stick or MP3 player, in order to see what's inside, browse the files and folders and dragging music, pictures or any other files into it.
iFunBox is a free program that not only does not install and is therefore portable and usable on any PC but does not generate any new process on the computer, does not create new files, does not modify anything in the iPod / Iphone and also works on devices not unlocked with the Jailbreak procedure.
In another article we have seen different ways to upload music, images and videos to an iPhone or how to manage a normal IPod, all without ITunes.
This time we take a step further because we are able to obtain a file manager identical to that of Windows, with folders, icons that represent the files and transfer modes with Drag & Drop (drag by mouse) .
After downloading the program and connecting the iPod / IPhone, it is possible, from the easy interface of the program, to see the internal directories: Music with music files and videos named for good and not with strange numbers; Wallpaper and backgrounds; Ringtones and rings; a folder called General Storage and the root directory of the iPod / Iphone called the Raw File System.
By clicking on one of the folders, on the right you can see the files that are inside and you can drag the files from the computer to upload them or copy these files from the iPod to the PC.
As for the Music and Video folder, mp3, mp4, 3gp, wav, m4a, m4v files can be copied inside (see how to convert Avi and DVD to MP4 for IPhone and iPod).
After copying them to the Apple device, you must turn the iPod off and on to see the new music present and listen to it.
With IFunBox it is also possible to install applications on iPhone, iPad and iPod without iTunes .
The General Storage folder is free and you can upload the files you want with the aim of keeping them, carrying them around and being able to use them wherever you want.
Basically it's like having a new USB stick with a lot of space to store documents and various files.
The Ipod / Iphone will not report their presence and in order to see and manage these files that are inside the Apple device, the computer must always have the I-FunBox program behind it.
The Wallpapers folder is used to choose the wallpapers and upload new ones to the iPod / IPhone.
By dragging an image file inside, the program automatically converts it to the optimal size for use as a background and all you have to do is go to the Ipod settings and choose the new background.
The Raw File System structure is typical of Unix systems and it is better not to touch it if you do not want to compromise the device.
On the right there is also the button to disconnect the Apple mobile phone.
Another useful program to explore and navigate the files of an Iphone or an Ipod Touch is IPhone Explorer of which there is a version for Windows and one for Mac.
This program shows the present files and folders as if you were using a classic USB stick, these can be created and renamed or deleted and it is also possible to drag them from Iphone ap and from PC to Iphone .
A third free software to be installed on a PC is IPhone Folders which shows the contents of the iPhone or Ipod Touch as if it were a USB stick in My Computer.
Another post instead describes another application that serves to facilitate the transfer of music photos and videos from IPod or IPhone to computer.
