App error not responding, closed or blocked on Android; Solutions

An error that can happen more or less often depending on the phone used, the version of Android and the installed apps is the one that ends an application suddenly.
This can happen both for an application in use, which closes suddenly showing a message such as " the app has stopped unexpectedly " or " the app has closed abnormally ", and for the apps that remain in backgrounds that when they go into error make a message appear about the process that is not responding or that has stopped .
In other cases, however, a different message may appear while you are using a game or an application, which tells us that the app is not responding by asking us whether to end it or wait for it to unlock.
The solutions for all these types of errors are as follows:
1) Restart your smartphone or tablet and see if the problem recurs.
It may have been an occasional error, an unusual bug, or a problem caused by excessive memory usage.
In such cases, a reboot should resolve the error of an app that is not responding or closes unexpectedly.
2) Check for system updates
This is the most appropriate solution in case the error concerns one of the Google apps pre-installed on the phone or one of the apps of the phone manufacturer Samsung, LG, HTC or others.
To check if there is a system update, go to Settings> About phone .
3) Update the app that fails
As already explained in another guide on how to update Android applications, open the Google Play Store and check if among the apps to be updated there is the one that freezes or does not respond or closes suddenly.
4) Force stop the application, clear the cache and clear the app data
This solution should solve the problem in most cases and is practically a reset of the application.
To do these operations, open the Settings, go to the Apps section and, in the list of installed applications, look for the one that gives the crash or forced closure error.
Then touch the end key, then touch the buttons to clear the cache and to clear the application data.
In Android 6, these keys are under "memory".
5) Uninstalling and reinstalling the app can be another solution even if it is unlikely to give better results than point 4.
6) Reset the phone
The last solution is to do a factory reset of the phone.
From the settings, find the Backup and restore options and tap the factory reset button.
Keep in mind that this option deletes all the data of the memory, the downloaded apps, the music, the photos so make sure you have a backup if you want to keep them.
If the error is still not resolved, all that remains is to give up that application.
If it is a pre-installed app that cannot be removed, disable it.
If it were a Google app that gave the problem, the error is necessarily caused by another app so the factory reset should solve.
When the error of the app that crashes appears, you can press the "Report" button to send the developer the details of the error and then give him the information required to solve the possible bug.
