Turn off Windows voice assistant

The voice assistant of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and also Windows 10 is one of the ways to make the PC speak to make it read in Italian what appears on the screen.
This assistant is an important tool for those with vision problems, so you can use and work with a computer independently.
Perhaps for this reason, Microsoft has always made it very easy to activate the voice assistant on every Windows PC, where you just have to press the Windows and Enter keys together to start reading.
If this is a great thing for those with sight impairments, the people who never need it are not as happy, and often the voice assistant is activated without wanting to hear him read whatever he sees on the screen in a very annoying way. .
The accidental start of the voice assistant can happen especially to those with children who go to press random keys on the keyboard.
If you are among those who at least once saw the voice activated unwittingly and who would like it not to do it again, there is a trick to disable the start of the voice assistant from the keyboard .
The procedure explained below is more laborious in describing it than in performing it.
It is actually very simple, you just need to follow all the steps.
- Open the folder C: \ Windows \ System32
- Search for the file Narrator.exe, right click on it and go to Properties .
- Go to the Security tab and then to Advanced .
- Change owner from the link above, press on Advanced, then on Find, select the user name with which you are connected and then press on OK .
- Click on Apply .
- Press on Add, then on Select Entity, then on Advanced, then on Find and select the username of the PC we are using, press OK and then OK again.
- Remove the crosses from the Reading and Execution and Reading options .
- Press Ok, then Apply, then Yes and then OK again to close.
Now try pressing the Windows and Enter keys together and notice that the voice assistant no longer opens and is disabled.
If you really need it, you can always open the voice assistant from the Control Panel, in the accessibility center section.
At least now, however, the robotic Windows voice will no longer accidentally start.
