Convert voice messages to text on Whatsapp

With the apps you can really do everything, even converting a voice message received on Whatsapp into a text message, ideal both for transcribing it, and for being able to read it in case you cannot listen to it by voice. As we know, in the guide to voice and audio messages on Whatsapp, you can listen in private to a voice message received simply by placing the phone close to your ear. This way the message will be heard from the phone's microphone instead of the speakerphone.
In situations, however, where you cannot listen to a voice message even in this way, for example during a class lesson or during a meeting in the office, an app that allows you to convert audio to text and read can be really useful the Whatsapp voice message as if it had been written normally.
For Android smartphones there are several applications to convert Whatsapp voice messages into written text.
The best one at the moment is Transcriber for WhatsApp, which is completely free and works very well for messages in Italian and other languages.
The conversion is almost perfect unless the audio is disturbed, badly spoken or with too much background noise. The app works like this: after installing it and after opening it the first time to grant the necessary permissions, it can be kept off until the moment we need it. When you receive a voice message that you cannot listen to, you can convert it into written text by touching and holding on the right side of the voice message in the chat until it is selected, then touch the key in the other with three dots, which is the one for sharing. Sharing must be done with the newly installed Audio To Text app and, after a short upload, that message will be displayed in text form. You can then read the voice message and you can also touch and hold on the text to be able to copy and paste.
This type of conversion from audio to text is convenient even if you use Whatsapp to save voice notes, to be able to automatically transcribe them . In addition, converting the audio is also useful if you receive voice messages from people who do not speak our language, in order to then paste the text into the automatic translator. The app supports voice messages written in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, Dutch, German and Russian. The only flaw is that you always need an active internet connection to work. The limit is for voice messages no longer than 45 seconds.
For Android there are also other applications that carry out this same transformation, but have some limitations and are not entirely free including Textr.
Another app, Speechless, is free to convert voice messages to text for up to 15 seconds.
If you want to convert a longer message, then you have to pay for the premium version of the app which costs a couple of Euros.
Speechless is available for Android and also for iPhone .
The iPhone version of Speechless also works with voice memos.
