Control your cell phone from the internet with Airdroid

I had already listed several programs to manage an Android mobile phone from the computer but, in general, everyone needed a client installed on the computer and none of them work via browser.
To date, the best way to manage and control an Android mobile phone of any type, be it an HTC, LG, Samsung or other brands, is the free AirDroid application that works via wifi and allows full control of the mobile phone, not just to manage files but also to send SMS from the phone, browse photos and listen to music.
AirDroid therefore offers many additional features for which otherwise you would have to install at least a couple of different applications.
With Airdroid it is possible, directly from the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or others) and without installing anything on the computer, to read, forward, reply and delete text messages, manage and play audio and video multimedia files, l '' install or uninstall applications, manage contacts in the phone book, manage ringtones, consult the call log and the various files stored on the SD card and view the status of the mobile phone (memory, battery, use of resources, etc.).
The fact that everything works via browser, brings this type of phone management from all computers, whether Windows, Linux or Mac .

The AirDroid application is free and can be downloaded from the Android Market.
After installation, by opening the app on the phone, you are asked whether to activate the service remotely.
You can also use a widget on the Android home to quickly activate remote access.
Obviously the mobile phone must be connected wirelessly to the same wifi network to which the computer is connected.
Immediately Airdroid provides the connection address which will be of the type 192.168.2.4:8888 .
The ip address and port number (8888) should be written as they are displayed on the address bar of Internet Explorer or any other browser.
The phone can also be accessed only from the PC browser by browsing the website.airdroid.com.
On the login page, the password is required to enter and manage the mobile phone.
The password can be changed by the application by setting a personalized one.
Nothing difficult and complicated, the connection between mobile phone and computer is established by AirDroid without making any configuration on the PC.
With the latest version, Airdroid 3, you can also download the client for Windows and Mac PCs which in addition to everything you can do from the web application, also allows you to see the screen of the mobile phone on the PC and use it as in remote desktop .
However, the function is only available on smartphones unlocked with root.

Entering the mobile from the browser of the computer you will see a desktop similar to that of Windows with some icons including:
Messages, Ringtones, Apps, Contacts, Files, Call Log, Market, Photos, Music, Videos, Screenshots .
On the right there is a box to see the status of the phone memory and, by clicking on " detail " you can read the details of what is on the phone, the number of apps, messages and files.
Below on the right you can read the battery charge percentage while at the top there is a search box to find applications directly on the market .
By pressing, for example, on Files, you can see the SD card file folders that can be opened, moved, renamed, deleted and even exported to the computer.
By pressing the Export button, the contents of the folder can be transferred to the PC disk .
By pressing instead the Import button you can transfer files from your computer to your mobile phone, so Airdroid works very well also to transfer, for example, music to your Android mobile phone and to make a copy of the photos taken with the camera.
In file management you can also do operations such as Cut, Copy and Paste to speed up the management of folders.
Also interesting is the list of applications that appears by pressing on Apps because from the Airdroid interface it becomes easy to uninstall them or create a backup copy of the same, importing the apk files on the computer for a subsequent reinstallation.
If you download an application from an external site that is not the Market, it also becomes easy to install it from the PC with Airdroid by pressing the Install button.
You can also import installations of system applications on your computer, the native ones that cannot be uninstalled.
Multiple selection of applications is supported, as well as files, messages and address book.
By pressing the ringtones icon, you can set your phone's ringtone, alarm or notification sounds and you can also import audio files or mp3 music tracks from your computer to use them as ringtones.
Each image and photo file stored on the Android phone can be previewed, deleted or set as wallpaper in the photo section.
The contacts icon displays the complete address book with the names of each contact displayed in a list.
For each contact you can see the entire card and then it becomes really simple to change the information and phone numbers and delete them quickly.
The sidebar on the left allows you to add a new contact to the address book with a click and also to write a new SMS .
Videos saved in the mobile phone can also be viewed from the Videos section on the computer.
The screenshots feature allows you to take photos on the phone screen .
AirDroid works really well, has a very clean and beautiful graphics to look at so much that it seems to be in a web application rather than inside your Android phone.
