Share your mobile screen (with Skype or other apps)

While to transmit what you see on the phone screen on a TV or computer there are numerous ways to do it without problems, to share the smartphone screen on another mobile phone there are certainly fewer solutions and it takes an external application.
Speaking of Android smartphones and iPhones, we can share the screen of a smartphone to see it on other mobile phones with a very popular application that many surely keep already installed, namely Skype .
The video calling platform Microsoft Skype has added in a recent update of its app for Android and for iPhone, the function of sharing the screen during a video call.
Since it is independent of the operating system and since Skype works on PCs and phones, it does not matter which device the person receiving the screen transmission uses, which can be any smartphone or PC. You can then see the screen of a smartphone on a PC or vice versa and you can also share the screen from one phone to another using the group video call function, at no cost.

How to share the screen of your Android or iPhone using Skype

The Skype screen sharing tool does not require any configuration, just log in to the application using a Microsoft account and then add the friends with whom we want to exchange conversations or screens in the contact list, asking for their Skype ID.
You can then start a video call with one or more friends by touching the camera icon in the upper right corner of the chat. When the other person answers, you can touch the three-dot button at the bottom right of the call interface to find the Share screen option. At that point, everything you see on your mobile phone will also be visible to people participating in the video call. To end screen sharing, you can touch the blue Stop sharing button.
Recall that Skype is a very powerful app and although it has been replaced by many people with more immediate apps such as Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger, it includes many advanced communication tools including the integrated translator that can transcribe the audio of a call in time real and view subtitles in real time, the ability to record calls and video calls and much more.
Those who do not have it can download Skype for free for Android and iPhone.

Other apps to share the Android and iPhone screen

Although Skype makes it easy to transmit the screen from one mobile phone to another, the function still remains linked to the video call and can be quite uncomfortable, especially for those who have never used Skype before. However, there are other applications to try that allow you to share the screen.

TeamViewer

TeamViewer, the most popular and powerful remote desktop program for PC, also works on smartphones and as already explained in the past allows you to remotely access an Android smartphone and iPhone for assistance. On Android, in addition to transmitting the screen, it also allows the other person to control it remotely, not only therefore to see what is being done.
Unlike Skype, TeamViewer is not a video calling app and its configuration is certainly more complicated since you need to download two apps: TeamViewer and TeamViewer QuickSupport. This allows you to instantly generate a unique ID for the device and share the screen without having to create a TeamViewer account.
From QuickSupport, you can then touch the button that sends the ID to another person with the link that will then serve, using the Teamviewer app, to view the screen remotely. So whoever shares the screen then uses Quicksupport to share the link that is used by those who have to access the screen of the other phone. Both apps are free and can be downloaded from these links:

Squad

Squad is a messaging app for Android and iPhone based on group video calls. You can video call up to nine people and share the screen with them in real time, to be able to see all the same things.
Instead of transmitting the entire screen, Squad (only on Android) also gives the possibility to focus a single app, without necessarily showing everything that happens on the phone.

lightbeam

LightBeam is an application currently only available on Android, which allows you to share your mobile phone screen to show it to other people with whom you can chat or video call. You can also chat while sharing the phone screen, which becomes useful when you want to organize a trip or purchase. Lightbeam supports up to four participants for a single call.

Mimicr

Mimicr for Android is another screen sharing service that supports streaming the phone screen with minimal latency. Mimicr can transmit the content of the display on a second phone on which it is not necessarily necessary to have the app installed, with the possibility of seeing the transmission from a web link, simply by opening the link in a browser.
Mimicr has a voice chat option to talk to the recipient while looking at the same screen together.
