How to Transfer Photos from Android and iPhone to PC in wifi

We took many photos with our smartphone and we want to keep them on our PC, so that we can review them, edit them and share them calmly later "> Photos and Your phone, one already present in the system and the other easily downloadable from the Store of Microsoft.
After installing the Your phone app on the computer with Windows 10, let's go to the phone and install the Complement of Your phone app on our Android smartphone. After installing all the necessary apps, let's go to the computer, open the Your phone app and click on Connect phone ; following the instructions we will be able to connect our Android smartphone to the PC via wireless, as described in our guide Connecting the Phone to Windows 10 .

Once the devices are connected, let's go to the Photos app, click on Import at the top and select the new item From mobile device to Wi-Fi . Now the app will show us the photos on the mobile device and allow us to download them quickly on our PC, as we have already described in detail in our guide on how to move photos from smartphone to PC in wifi with Windows 10 .

ICloud photo library on iPhone

On the iPhone we can take advantage of iCloud and its accessory services to be able to wirelessly synchronize all the photos taken on the smartphone to the PC or Mac. To start we take our iPhone and go to Settings> User Name> iCloud> Photos and activate the switch on the item ICloud photo library, so as to prepare the service for synchronization. After doing this, we can quickly download the photos by going to the iCloud site from any web browser for Windows and Mac, logging in with our Apple credentials and going to the Photos menu, where we can select the photos to download and start the download by clicking the Download button (cloud-shaped with an arrow pointing down).
If, on the other hand, we wanted to automate the process on Windows, we download the iCloud client on a PC, log in with Apple credentials when requested and click on Options, present next to the Photos item; Among the various items we activate iCloud Photo Library and click on the OK button. From now on, the photos will be automatically downloaded to your PC, just visit the Images> iCloud Photos folder to find all our photos already synchronized.

If we use a Mac the steps to follow are even simpler, since iCloud is integrated within the operating system: all we have to do is start the Photos app, click on the Photos menu -> Preferences, go to the iCloud tab and activate the iCloud Photo Library item.

App to transfer photos over Wi-Fi

The methods we have previously reported are the best that we can use to transfer photos from Android and iPhone to PC or Mac in Wi-Fi, since they are quick to set up and use; but if we use an Android smartphone on a Mac or an iPhone on Windows, we can transfer using one of the following free apps.

AirDroid (Android and iOS)

Currently one of the best apps to transfer wirelessly from smartphone to PC or Mac is AirDroid, available for free for Android and iOS.

After installing the app on our smartphone, we open any web browser on a Windows PC or Mac and go to the AirDroid Web page; a QR code will appear in it, which we will have to scan with the AirDroid app on our smartphone (on the mobile app there is in fact a specific icon at the top right to open the rear camera and scan this code). After photographing the QR code, the connection via Wi-Fi will be established and we can manage our smartphone from the browser window; specifically we can view and download the photos on the portable device by going to the Photos menu.
Note : to be able to use AirDroid without an account, simply deactivate the Connect via HTTPS item on the AirDroid Web login screen.

AirMore (Android and iOS)

Another great app for transferring photos from smartphone to PC in Wi-Fi is AirMore, available for free for Android and iOS.

The configuration and use is similar to when already seen for AirDroid: we will have to install the specific app for our smartphone, then go to the AirDroid web page, where there is the QR code necessary to pair the service; all we have to do is open the app on Android and iPhone, tap the Scan button to connect and frame the QR code on the site. After a few seconds we will have access to the management service of our smartphone, with which we can transfer any file: specifically we can transfer the photos by going to the Pictures menu, selecting the photo or photos to download and using the Export button, so as to download them as normal files from the browser.

Photosync (Android and iOS)

Among the many applications that do this job, my choice goes to the PhotoSync app which makes the process of synchronizing photos in wifi really a joke. PhotoSync can be installed as a program on Windows and Mac PC and on iOS and Android devices and works in wifi or even via bluetooth. Using this application it is possible to easily transfer photos and videos between various Android smartphones and tablets, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and also with the computer. To do the wifi transfer, the only requirement is that the computer and mobile phone are connected to the same wireless network.
Once this is done, you just have to open Photosync on Android or iPhone, open the program on Mac or PC and then, from your smartphone, press the synchronization button located at the top. In the settings you need to activate the Fast Transfer which allows you to transfer all the new photos / videos taken automatically through synchronization. This way you don't have to worry about selecting them manually because the app will already know which photos have already been transferred and which ones are to be transferred instead.
You will then be asked if you want to synchronize all the photos and videos that will be immediately transferred to your computer in an Images folder .
The PhotoSync home screen displays the grid of thumbnails of images and videos saved in the device memory.
You can also send a single photo to another mobile phone or computer by selecting the image and then touching the sync button at the top. On the next screen you can choose the destination to which you want to transfer that photo. You can select multiple images by long pressing on the thumbnails.
Finally, the PC program allows you to make the reverse transfer and send photos from computer to mobile using a small window in which to drag the file.
PhotoSync can be downloaded for free for PC and Mac and for Android, instead the iPhone version costs $ 3 on the iTunes App Store.
If we are looking for other apps similar to those recommended above, we recommend you read our guide to the App to send files on Android and iPhone .

Conclusions

Transferring photos from your smartphone to your PC or Mac without using any cables is very simple, just use some of the features integrated into modern Windows and Mac operating systems or use one of the simple and comfortable apps that can be downloaded from the Android and iPhone stores.
In another article we saw how to enable the automatic upload of photos of the mobile phone to Google Photos, Facebook or Dropbox, so as to enable the automatic transfer of photos as already seen for iCloud on the iPhone.
In particular, you can use the automatic backup of Google Photos to find on the PC all the photos taken with the phone without having to do any manual operation.
