How to put a photo as wallpaper on Android

With an Android smartphone, whatever model and brand it is, Samsung Galaxy, HTC, LG etc., it is not so simple to put a photograph as the background of the screen .
Strange, in fact, how, among the many things that can be done, there are difficulties in putting a photo as a background on Android without it being distorted, blurred or enlarged, even after the default cropping to adapt it to the screen resolution.
This is a common problem faced by many users of Android phones, and the reason lies both in the shots that are not proportional to the size of mobile phones, and in the lack of an automatic program to adapt the image.
This article then explains how to create correctly resized wallpapers on an Android phone and how to do it via software on PC or through other applications directly from the smartphone.

The wallpapers of an Android mobile phone are particular because they have to adapt in width to the home screens in panoramic mode, while on an iPhone or other models the background is always fixed.
Unlike many smartphones, such as the iPhone, Android doesn't have a fixed background .
On Android phones, the screen background extends across all home screens.
However, to understand the resolution amplitude of a homescreen background, you cannot simply multiply the width with the number of screens you use (from 3 to 10).
The correct way to calculate the correct size of a background is to double the native screen width ie it must be 2 times the screen resolution width
So if the phone's screen resolution is 320x480, the image that fits well as a background is 640x480 .
To resize the photo just taken with the correct height - width ratio, you can use a free application (there are many) such as Photo Editor .
After installing the application, start the program and select "Gallery".
Open the photo you want to set as wallpaper, scroll and press the "Resize / Fit" option from the list of functions below.
Then click on Manual and then write the dimensions of the photo according to the criterion seen above.
For example, for a Samsung Galaxy S2, the photo must be 960x800 for a 480x800 screen resolution.
Be sure to deselect the " Keep Aspect Ratio " or " Keep Aspect Ratio " option so you can enter the exact digits and tap on Ok to continue.
The resized photo can finally be saved with the choice of assigning it as a background or wallpaper on the screen.
To easily resize the images on the computer you can instead use the usual IrfanView program which makes it easy to change the size of the photos and images.
You can also use wb apps like Pixlr or other online photo editing apps to edit photos.
If you download wallpapers from the internet, be sure to use the right resolution by looking for images suitable for your phone.
In the end it is only a matter of resizing, you just need to know what the trick is and you can put all the photos you want as the background of the Android phone screen.
