How the high speed USB 3.0 port works

On all new computers are now present USB 3.0 ports, incorporated in the motherboard.
What does it mean to have a USB 3.0 port on a computer "> How much faster and more convenient is a USB 3.0 pen?
The new USB specification dramatically increases transfer speeds up to 100 MB per second or more (depending on the controller).
Unfortunately, however, it will be necessary to buy back external hard drives and USB sticks if you want to enjoy the greater speed of this port, which is still underutilized.
On the other hand, USB 3.0 devices are absolutely backward compatible with the 2.0 standard.
