Change Windows 7 start screen with backgrounds and writings

For lovers of Windows customization, here is the way to change or completely change the Windows 7 boot screen, that is the animation with a black screen where the Windows logo appears and where " Windows is starting " is written.
You can then finally change the word " Microsoft Corporation " to " Navigaweb Corporation " and you can change the background of the ignition of the computer by putting your own image or by replacing the default one with Windows 7, with the start of another Windows system.
In particular, for vintage lovers, it is also possible to set Windows 7 to boot with the backgrounds that were used by Windows 1, Windows 95, Windows 98 or XP .
Other graphic skins for Windows boot can be inspired by Mac, Linux Ubuntu, Android or other models.
Changing the startup screen of the computer is possible and easy using a single program, still in beta which still works very well and unique.
This is Windows 7 Boot Updater that can be downloaded for free from the download link of the developer page.
The tool is also in Italian and does not require installation so you can immediately launch the Win7Bootupdater file to start it.
It requires that .Net Fremawork 4.0 be present on the computer.
Immediately, you will see the preview of the current computer startup animation, with the Windows logo that lights up and flashes.
The initial animation is divided into two parts: one with the animation and the other with the loop that goes on until Windows starts and brings up the desktop or logon screen for access.
From the left menu you can change the background color to a color other than standard black.
Below you can change the two messages, those that appear under the Windows logo: " Starting Windows " and " Microsoft Corporation ".
They can be removed or edited as desired and can also be moved up or down and zoomed in.
At the top, under the wording animation, there is a drop-down menu from which you can choose whether, instead of the standard animation, you want to put a different background image .
The image must be of the Bitmap (BMP) type therefore, any photo must be converted into BMP with any photo editing program such as Irfanview.
However, since the static image would be wasted, you can download an already made bootskin, which maintains the animation.
For example, an original way of personalizing your computer boot is by putting the boot screen of old Windows .
On a DeviantArt user page you can download a package that includes all 12 Windows: (Windows 1.0, Windows 2.0, Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 Workgroups, Windows 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server Family, Windows Millenium Edition, Windows XP).
Obviously you only change the background image of the computer startup and nothing else.

To apply the change with Windows 7 Boot Updater, after downloading and extracting the skin package (use 7zip to extract the archives downloaded from DeviantArt), you need to go to the top menu " File ", click on " Load Boot Skin " and then select the file ending in .bs7.
For example, to apply the Windows 95 skin, choose the windows 95 for windows 7.bs7 file .
Before making the change, you can preview it by pressing the " Play " button on the right or " Screen " to view it in full screen.
To apply the change of the boot screen, click on Apply and wait for system files such as winload.exe, bootres.dll and others to be modified.
In addition to starting the computer, you can also change the background of the Resume image or the awakening of the computer after suspension or sleep.
In the end, restart your computer and watch how it turns on differently.
Other original backgrounds are always found on Deviant art and, looking for boot skins, you can find:
- The boot screen dedicated to Android (link) and Cyanogenmod (link)
- Mac bootscreen with apple (link)
- Windows animated wallpaper for laptops (link)
- Radian Boot Screen (link)
- Windows 8 concept (link)
After doing more tests and changing the PC startup screen several times, I can say that this tool works well and without problems.
However, you are asked to be careful with the use of Windows 7 Boot Updater because it is an advanced tool on which the developer (and of course also Navigaweb) declines all responsibility in case of problems.
We therefore recommend that you create a recovery point or make sure you have a backup image available before using it.
In another post, however, several programs are reported to change the boot and logon background on Windows 7, XP and Vista
