Block Facebook invitations and events, definitive guide

The most annoying thing about Facebook are the continuous invitations that are received in the form of notifications, for games, events, applications, to subscribe to a page and so on.
The bad news is that there is no way to disable all invitations in one fell swoop .
We saw, in another article, that requests for Facebook games and apps can be blocked by deactivating the Facebook platform, which is very impractical (because some apps are always used at the end) and, above all, not definitive since the blocking does not work for all.
The good news is that, however, you can block the invitations of games, applications and events in different methods, managing the notifications you want to receive in order to, at least, limit a lot of useless requests that only waste time.
The best way to block Facebook invitations is to manage them every day until unwanted notifications no longer appear .
In practice, by accessing Facebook daily from the PC and checking the various notifications, for all those you no longer want to receive, you can first click on the X and then on the Disable button .
This way, if our friends continually invite us to play some games, these invitations will no longer appear for that game.
Eventually, after app and game requests are disabled for several days, they will hardly come.
This is definitely the easiest and fastest way to constantly clean your notification center.
Disabling the Facebook app platform is a bit of a nuclear option, which I absolutely do not recommend, of which I spoke before.
The fact is, however, that the Facebook login is required for many apps, (an example above all is Spotify) therefore, to those who have already done it or who is tempted to do it, I say that it is not convenient.
In the end, Facebook took over a domain on the internet from which you cannot stay away if you want to use the web in all its enormous potential.
In addition, the Facebook login is very convenient for accessing sites and applications without having to register your account, which is always a nuisance.
To deactivate the platform, simply go to the Account settings (by pressing the down arrow on the top right), then in the Applications section, press Change under the wording Apps, websites and plugins .
Read the warning window and, if really convinced, disable the app platform.
In the same settings screen you can find another box related to Instant Personalization .
Disabling the Instant Personalization does not block Facebook invitations and apps, but access to some of the Facebook "partners".
It is therefore not necessary for our purpose.
We still remain on the application settings screen to discover a third box related this time to the Applications used by others
This section also does not disable or block any invitations received, but it is an important privacy setting.
If, as I think it is probable, you want the applications used by friends to know very little or even nothing about us, click on Edit under this section and disable all the options.
Being a relatively new part in Facebook settings, it is likely that it has never been configured so it is good to do so.
Manage application settings on your mobile phone
The three previously mentioned settings sections can also be configured from the Facebook application on the Android or iPhone smartphone.
Then tap the icon with three vertical lines, scroll down until you find the Account settings and then the Applications section.
Regarding the blocking of invitations from games, it is also important to open the "App Center" which now represents the activity sheet on the Games .
From the Home of the Facebook site, look at the left column and click on Games .
From the games page, click on Activities at the top to see all the pending invitations that have been sent by friends to use different applications or games.
There are therefore two sections, Invitations and Requests.
The requests relate to games that have been played in the past and requests for help from friends continue to arrive.
The invitations are related to games never used.
For each item in the list you can click on the Ignore all link or on the X and then on Block to no longer receive notifications from that game.
The application is blocked forever, and you will no longer receive an invitation.
Block some friends from sending Invitations.
Another effective way to block invitations of any kind, including events, so frequent and often annoying, can be blocking a friend.
It is not necessary to remove the friendship from the friend PR organizer of events or the inveterate player and not even block him so as not to let him see anything more of us on Facebook.
Going to the account settings, this time to the block section, you can write the name of these inviting friends and prevent them from sending invitations for applications or sending invitations to events.
Unfortunately, note that this type of block cannot be set from the mobile app.
From this section you can also block specific games or applications without needing the invitation to arrive first (but it only works if you know the exact name of the app).
One problem with Facebook invitations is notifications on the mobile phone .
From the Facebook application, press the button with three lines, scroll down and enter Application settings .
From here, at the bottom, you will find the option to remove Facebook notifications.
Keeping notifications enabled in general, scroll down to remove those related to application requests, invitations to events, groups etc.
In conclusion, this is all that can be done today to limit and disable annoying notifications of Facebook invitations.
A better way to block all games would certainly be desirable without this disabling the application platform, but it does not exist (and certainly will not exist in the future).
