Starting programs at a set time with a timer

A useful thing you can do with your computer is to schedule a program to run at a certain time.
But, with Windows, there is a strange limit to this function because it is not possible to set the opening of a particular file at a certain time .
For example, it might be nice to start a chosen song at a set time, a backup procedure or ... I don't know, you do.
I tell you how to do it, then the aims and fields of application can be the most varied, both fun (you can think of different jokes) and useful but now I can't think of many ...

As mentioned, the Windows utility, " Scheduled Tasks ", visible from the " Control Panel ", allows you to program the execution of a program, an .exe file, but is not able to automatically open a file related to that program and that opens with it.
To better understand, you can plan to open the Winamp program but as a result you only have the appearance of the Winamp interface, still, without doing anything useful because you cannot tell it to open an mp3 file.
So, you have to use an external program called Z-Cron with which you can plan the opening of a document or file .
So, by setting the opening, for example, of an mp3 fie, it will open and will be played by the default application from Windows to open the mp3 files. If you set the opening of an image, it will open through the image viewer, a Word document will open with Word and so on.
After downloading and installing Z-Cron, you can schedule an operation by clicking on the " Task " button.
From the Task editor, in the first tab you choose the file you want to open in the Program field, you can set it, or an .exe file as you would from Scheduled Operations or even an mp3 file to wake up, or set a playlist, or that you want. From the " Scheduler " tab you set the time and date of execution and, if you wish, the periodicity.
In the last tab you enter the username and password used to access Windows, which can also be owned by another user registered on that computer. Finally, click on Save to activate the scheduled operation and when you close the Z-Cron window, an icon in the bottom right of the taskbar indicates that the scheduler is active.
and then you can also do ... nothing else, that's all ... happy?
Ah, aren't you happy?
So ok, if you don't like Z-Cron you can use another program to make the PC execute files and commands based on time or an event.
We also have a nice online timer .
A countdown does not need to say how it should be used, I just report that the Egg.Timer site is really well done and it is very easy to use it. Basically, the URL of the site is //e.ggtimer.com/ and if after the slash, you write 1hour becoming //e.ggtimer.com/1hour immediately starts the one hour timer .// e.ggtimer. com / 30 the timer lasts 30 seconds; with //e.ggtimer.com/5years3moths1hour30minutes13seconds a countdown of 5 years starts 3 months 1 hour 30 minutes and 13 seconds.
Finally, I would like to point out, for those who do not have enough, the online stopwatch is called Online Stopwatch ChronMe : start, pause and reset only with a click of the mouse.
