3D spatial audio for headphones in Windows 10

With the installation of the new updates of Windows 10, some changes are immediately evident, others, however, more hidden.
Among them, for example, are the sound enhancement options when using headphones, through the effects of spatial audio . This function should make the sound and music heard on the PC through the headphones more immersive, as if the sound were all around in the room.
To find these spatial audio options, right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar near the clock.
Spatial audio allows you to activate one of two options, the one called Dolby Atmos and Windows Sonic for headphones .
Dobly Atmos leads to install an application which then requests to activate the functionality as a trial for 30 days.
Windows Sonic, on the other hand, you can immediately activate and try, with or without the option to enable 7.1 virtual surround sound
Using the earphones you can then try to see if there are differences with the Windows Sonic spatial audio activated.
In my experience, using a pair of simple earphones, I didn't have any difference, but perhaps using a certain type of supported applications and more advanced headphones, then there could be significant improvements.
From the speaker configuration properties, you can also enable audio enhancements and set the sample rate and bit depth of the sound in the Advanced tab.
I have already talked about these options in the PC audio enhancements guide.
