How to use secret chat in Facebook Messenger

After Whatsapp, even conversations in Facebook Messenger can now be safe from prying eyes thanks to the support of end to end encryption, implemented starting today.
We have already talked about what end-to-end encryption means for Whatsapp which, briefly said, allows you to protect the content of messages transmitted via the internet along the entire route, so that not only are they not readable by those who intercept traffic (via software or hacker technology), but which are also encrypted for those who manage the service, that is, in this case, by Facebook employees.
The end to end encryption, which on Facebook Messenger is called " secret conversation ", is however different from that of Whatsapp where it is active by default and applies to all chats.
To use Facebook Messenger's secret conversations, however, you must first activate the function and then use it with a specific contact.
To be precise, Open Facebook Messenger, go to the settings tab which is the last one on the right, scroll down until you find the secret conversations option that is to be activated. After activating it, if you want to chat with someone in a protected way, first search for their name in the contact list or using the search bar and then, when you open the normal conversation, tap on the i in the upper right. In the options list you can tap on " secret conversation " to start it.
This new chat is separated from the main one and works in such a way that it is visible only on the smartphones of the users who are communicating . Unlike what happens with other conversations, this secret chat is not also displayed by other devices to which you are connected and is not readable even from the Messages section of the Facebook site. In Messenger's secret chat you can send stickers, photos and images, but not videos and GIFs. However, a secret group conversation cannot be initiated.
This secret chat feature only works if the two people both have the latest version of Facebook Messenger on Android and iPhone, not on Windows Phone (at least for now). The most interesting thing is that if one of the two deletes the secret chat, the messages disappear for both and are no longer readable or recoverable in any way.
Facebook Messenger therefore allows you to send messages that can be destroyed at the user's discretion as other apps such as Telegram and Wickr do.
This feature is not bad at all and there is no reason to believe that Facebook Messenger's secret conversation is not actually protected.
the fact remains that Facebook, in terms of privacy, is not reliable and that, as already reported, the best app for secret and untraceable chats is Signal
