Turn on auto-complete in Windows to find files and folders faster

All current browsers have the function of " automatic completion " of what is written in the address bar. So if you start writing on the browser bar: www.na is automatically completed with the site www.navigaweb.net and so it is valid for all sites already visited or saved in favorites. Browsers like Chrome and Firefox also have the search suggestion if you start writing a word (which can also be activated on the Google search engine).
Even on Windows you can activate the automatic completion on the folder address bar, very useful for quickly finding files and folders in Windows File Explorer . Basically, if you open a folder full of files and other folders, you can start writing a letter on the top bar and see that it completes itself with the first file that starts with that letter. In addition, all filenames and directories that begin with that same letter are also listed, allowing you to scroll with the arrows and open them with the Enter key on the keyboard.
Autocomplete in Windows File Explorer is disabled by default because it can slightly weight down the system.
To enable automatic completion in Windows 10 and Windows 7 you have to look for the hidden option in an unsuspected menu, that of Internet Explorer options.
The Internet options panel can be opened both from the browser and from the control panel, either by writing the command inetcpl.cpl on the box Execute (in Windows 10, press the right mouse button on the Start button to use Run).
In Windows 7 and Windows 10 from the " Advanced " tab, scroll through the list of options until you find the line where it says: " Use online auto-complete in Windows Explorer and Run dialog " and put the cross. After applying the change, you can open any window and try writing something on the address bar to find and execute files quickly. The same thing also happens for the Run box on the Start menu.
Auto-completion becomes a kind of prompter that also works on the Open With and Save windows.
If you would like to disable the feature again, simply deselect the checkbox from the Internet Explorer option and apply the changes.
This function can also be enhanced on Windows using the excellent and recommended Listary program for searching for fast files in folders, which instead works on all files on the computer.
