Facebook is known to be the most popular site and also most hated by people. He is often blocked in offices because he is indicated as a site to waste time, he is avoided by those who care about privacy because he does not want former schoolmates to know something about him and is often misused becoming an accomplice in quarrels, gossip or even insults.
Facebook, however, has a huge advantage over other similar sites, namely that everyone uses it and can be used in ways that go beyond just sharing links or thoughts.
You can't really overlook the thousands of hidden Facebook functions and the various more useful tools inside Facebook to use this social network in different ways than the usual "like", "write" and "share".
1) Plan a meeting or special event
Facebook works really well both for planning public events and for organizing parties or private meetings, for birthdays or invitations of various kinds.
Since there are almost all friends on Facebook, it really becomes the best tool on the internet to make private invitations to people and communicate their day, date and place of a party or even a meeting.

2) Interest lists for organizing news
The main Facebook page collects the flow of news and updates from friends and pages you are a fan of.
In this Facebook is not very functional and is lost by showing photos and not at all interesting stuff.
However, if you use the little-known function of Facebook interest lists, you can create a personalized news flow that combines the latest updates from famous people, websites, newspapers and various pages on a particular topic.
You can use these lists to read the latest news about a topic every day.
For example, if you create a list on technology or information technology, you can add the Navigaweb page in addition to that of other sites that talk about computers and read the various news all together.
3) Organize and save, even in private form, all our personal photos where we appear .
Facebook users can be tagged in photos published by friends.
The photos in which you are tagged are collected in the "Photos where you are" section but they are not ours, in the sense that if they are deleted by the friend who published it, they are lost.
It is possible, however, to make sure that all the photos in which you are tagged are saved, automatically, in a special private and visible album are up to us.
To do this you can use the recipes of IFTTT, in particular the one that saves Facebook photos on Dropbox or the one that saves them in a private album (see link for details).
Alternatively, you can use an app like Photograbber to automatically download the photos you have tagged in a folder on your PC.
4) Communicate in Videochat
Not everyone knows that Facebook can make video calls from your PC for free thanks to the integration with Skype.
Compared to other video chat applications such as Google Hangout in Gmail, Facebook can count on the fact that everyone uses it and can therefore be contacted with almost no problem.
5) Send files and share files with a group
we always look for particular ways to send even large files via the internet and we never think that this can be done with Facebook.
Not only can you send Send files to Facebook as attachments in messages of up to 25 MB, but you can also share larger files in a closed Facebook group.
Uploading files to a Facebook group allows you to create a central repository that anyone within the group can access, without having to create shared folders, manage permissions or open other accounts.
6) Do targeted research
Unfortunately, the new search function called www.facebook.com/graphsearch is not yet available in Italian.
You can still try setting the English language and thus discover the enormous potential of Facebook as a site of demographic statistics.
You can find friends with passions common to us, discover the best film for them and find ideas to spend a nice evening, looking for the most suitable restaurant or venue according to the preferences of the friends themselves.
To try, set the language English (US) and then activate the Facebook social search engine.
7) Send and receive messages for free from your mobile phone
Even if you don't use Facebook to share things online or to let others know what we do, you can still take advantage of it from your mobile phone or PC to communicate for free with friends via messages, as you would with SMS or Whatsapp.

In the end there is a lot that can be done on this site and taking advantage of the many applications integrated into Facebook.
Remember that you can also use Facebook by keeping your profile completely private and without sharing anything.
