Whatsapp: hide check messages read and last access

The Whatsapp application on Android and iPhone has two important options in privacy controls .
Privacy controls have come in great demand on Android since they have already been present on the iPhone for some time.
Among these, the most important is the one that finally allows you to decide whether to show your friends the time of entry to the chat or not.
This way you can hide your activity a bit on whatsapp and avoid replying without someone accusing us of ignoring it.

The new privacy controls in Whatsapp for Android and iPhone are located in the general settings of the applications accessible by pressing the menu button (top right or bottom).
On Android you must go to settings> Accounts and then to Privacy while on iPhone go to Settings> Chat Settings> Advanced to choose who can see the following personal information:
- last access ;
- profile photo ;
- State
- Info
For each one you can put everyone, only contacts in the address book or none.
In the same screen you can also manage blocked contacts who cannot contact us and send us messages.
The time of last access is the one that proves the effective opening of Whatsapp.
It is important to note that when it appears, for a friend, that a person is online, it can mean that the app is active and you are writing and sending a message, but not only.
When you use Whatsapp and leave the application open, it will still show an online status.
It is even more important to know that by changing the privacy in Whatsapp and putting that "Nobody" can see our last access, you will not even be able to see the time of last access of friends .
This is the price to pay for having privacy in Whatsapp.
Note that in this way notifications of read messages will not be hidden, both for incoming and outgoing messages, which is another option, that of Reading Confirmations .
From November 2014 in Whatsapp the notification of the message read is represented by the blue sign .
In practice, when sending a message to someone, a v appears first to say that it has been sent.
The v becomes double vv when this message is received .
The acknowledgment of receipt becomes read receipt when the double vv turns blue, which means that the message has been read .
For example, if I received a message because my smartphone is connected to the internet, I may not have read it yet because I am sleeping or because I have a cell phone away, even if the notification has appeared on my smartphone.
The message reading notification can be disabled .
Another privacy option is blocking contacts on Whatsapp, explained in another article.
You can also hide chats and contacts on Whatsapp (if embarrassing) and certainly stay offline on Whatsapp and not be seen online.
