Use the game bar in Windows 10 to record the screen

While PC game players will have noticed this immediately, others may not have discovered one of the best features of Windows 10, the ability to be able to record videos, take screenshots and even to broadcast live .
These functions are included in the game bar, designed for players who want to save game videos or broadcast Gameplay live, but can also be used for normal PC programs.
Game Bar or Game Bar is therefore a software included in Windows 10 that allows you to take screenshots and record the screen (even the desktop) and transmit video games, with a link to the Xbox app that allows you to share games with friends.
The game bar must be enabled for a game (or any other app or program) before you can use its functions.
At any time, in fact, you can call up the game bar to be able to use tools such as that to record a video of the screen, to broadcast live what you do on the computer (a game game or other) and to take screenshots and save images.
Once a game has started (or any other program you want to register), press the Windows - G keys together to bring up the game bar, where there are buttons to take a screenshot, record the game to the game or even record the desktop and then also an option gear button.
Press the gear button and activate the " Remember this game " option.
The Settings of the gear menu allow you to customize the game bar according to your needs and are divided into three tabs: General, Recording and Audio .
The General tab offers most of the options, including the option to enable Game Mode on the active window.
We talked about what Game Mode means in Windows 10 in another article.
The recording tab allows you to choose whether to start recording the game in the background, while the audio options are used to include game audio.
Returning to the game bar, we can press several buttons at the top to capture screenshots, to start recording the video of the game or even to record the last 30 seconds, to make more limited video clips at important moments.
Keep in mind that video recording works with all programs and also with the desktop which is seen by Windows 10 as an app.
So, without opening any program, you can register the desktop and everything you do on your computer without using external programs, using the Windows 10 game bar.
You can also start a Live Broadcast, choosing to broadcast the whole desktop or just the current window.
Live video transmission can be managed and viewed on the Mixer.com website, dedicated to video games and similar to Amazon's Twitch.
In Settings> Games you can also configure other options including:
- Game bar : you can choose to change the shortcut to open the game bar which, by default, is represented by the Windows-G keys.
You can also see and configure the keys to take screenshots, to record a video, to activate the live broadcast, to activate or deactivate the microphone, to activate the camera.
For each game or program that has been included in the game bar, the default keyboard shortcuts for performing various actions more quickly are:
Windows logo key + G : opens the game bar
Windows logo key + Alt + G : record the last 30 seconds (you can change the amount of time recorded in the game bar> Settings)
Windows logo key + Alt + R : start / stop recording
Windows logo key + Alt + Stamp : take a screenshot of the game
Windows logo key + Alt + T : show / hide the recording timer
- Capture : Here are the options to choose the folder where to save videos and images saved during the games and to choose whether to include the audio or not in the videos.
You can also choose the quality of the recorded video, then automate the recording for each game, activate or deactivate the audio coming from the microphone and hide or hide the mouse cursor.
- Broadcast : to choose the audio quality of the live broadcasts on the Mixer and whether or not to include the voice from the computer microphone.
You can also activate the shooting from the PC camera if you want to appear in the video and you can exclude the mouse cursor from the direct video.
