Google advanced search tricks for immediate results and answers

Hundreds of millions of people around the world use the Google site more than any other web service, but it's rather surprising how little most of them really know about the most used search service in the world.
While remaining visually the same or almost always, the main website Google.com or Google.it for those looking for from Italy, has really added many internal features over time that can still remain unknown or ignored by many people. Although the graphics of the most used search engine in the world are always minimalist and with very few buttons, it is possible to search in different, more precise or more targeted ways towards results that are useful.
In this article we see Google advanced search tricks to get immediate answers to refine your results without having to scroll through too many pages of results before finding the right site.
1) Find immediate answers .
Google is an intelligent search engine and is able to answer some questions directly today, so you don't have to go to another site to find what you're looking for. For example, you can find out the time and time zone in Australia or San Francisco by simply writing tempo australia or time san francisco .
You can know the weather in a city quickly, by writing sidney weather, you can convert units (e.g. 1 Euro in dollars ) and use the calculator by looking for a calculator, knowing the years of an actor by writing, for example, age Tom Cruise, to know the cinema hours, the sports results and the latest football matches, the stock market prices and much more.
You can also quickly find the definitions for a word provided by the vocabulary.
Just look for, for example, computer definition .
You can also see the list of songs of a singer, the date, the album and the duration (looking for songs of ... ) and then listen to them by clicking on them and using Youtube.
I have collected some of the Google formulas to find automatic results .
You can find all the search formulas on a page provided by Google itself, of tips and tricks.

2) Translations of words
From Google, by pressing on the square at the top right, you can access Google Translate to translate words and sentences. However, if you want to do it first and you just want a quick translation for a word, there is a very quick trick: just write, on Google Search, translate dog into English to know how to say the word dog in English, with the possibility also to listen to the vocal pronunciation.
3) Use Google advanced search with operators
Sometimes you may not know which search query to use to find what you need. Google allows you to use useful specific search operators to limit and filter search results in an optimal way.
In particular, you can use the characters:
* which is the joker and is used when you don't remember a name or what someone did.
~ to find synonyms
- to exclude a word from the search (interesting then to search, for example ~ serious -serious

site: navigaweb.net to search only in one site.
"words" to search for an exact phrase enclosed in quotation marks
or to search for results relative to a word or another (for example case or machines finds results related to houses or machines and not to " houses and machines " as it would normally be without using or ).
There are also others of which, the most common, are clickable from the left side menu and on the buttons below each result.

4) Advanced image search
Searching for images in Google has many options and tricks to filter the results according to what you want to find.
I refer to other articles to discover the tricks and functions of the new Google Image Search.
5) Look for a site cache even if it is no longer available
Every website and every web page is crawled by Google which keeps a copy on its servers, the so-called cached copy . This cached copy is very useful when a site is no longer available, if it is offline, if it has disappeared, if it has been censored, closed or deactivated. Thus, the next time your favorite site is blocked, you can try to access it via the Google cache. From the search results, press the green arrow down next to the website's internet address and click on copy cache . Otherwise, you can open the cache of a website by typing as URL on the address bar of the browser cache: www.navigaweb.net
6) Translate foreign words by looking for them in Pictures to know what they are.
The translations on the internet are done with Google Translate which is immediately. If you wanted to do it first or if you really wanted to understand what a technical term means, the translation of which would still not be easy to understand, you can use the Google Images function. For example, if you want to know what RAM is, you can see it directly by searching for " Ram Images ". This technique does not work for verbs and adjectives.
7) Know what is something seen in the picture
From Google images you can use image search to find photos similar to one found online or that we have on the computer.
8) Search suggestions
When doing a search, Google tries to predict what it wants to find and lists a series of queries. This functionality can be used to make correct requests. For example, if you write an error, you can see some suggestions. If you move the cursor to the left of error, make a space and write a letter, you will receive suggestions for searches where error is the second word.
9) Blocking unwanted sites in Google search results can only be done on Google Chrome, so as not to show more results from certain web domains.
10) Searches without personalization
Also of this I had already spoken in the past: Google search results change according to the person or pc you use.
Google in fact provides different results for the same searches based on the history of the sites visited on the computer.
If you don't want the results to be personalized, there is a way to do a private Google search .
11) Search history
As explained in the past, if you use Google by logging in with your Google or Gmail account, your search history on Google and the sites visited on the internet is saved and you can see it whenever you want, unless you ask to disable it.
12) Voice search on Google
Only using Chrome you can search by voice on Google by pressing the microphone icon on the main page of google.it . Obviously you need to speak to a microphone connected to the computer.
13) Google "Search by name" allows you to skip the results page and immediately open the page dedicated to that word searched on Wikipedia, if this exists, otherwise the normal results page opens. The page with the results is skipped, as happens if you press the " I'm feeling lucky " button, even if the word you are looking for is a website. The advantage is a net saving of time .
To create this search engine you must add the parameter gfns = 1 :
For example: //www.google.com/search "> 10 ways to search Google and find accurate results
