Transfer even large files from PC to smartphone in Wifi

To bring a file from the PC to the smartphone it is usually preferable to use cloud services such as Google Drive or Dropbox, copying the file to the relative folder on the PC and downloading it from the application to the phone.
This, however, is definitely not the fastest method, since we will waste twice the time to upload the file to the cloud and download it back to the phone.
Instead of using the clouds, we can use apps and programs that can transfer large files from PC to smartphone using the WiFi connection.
We will thus be able to transfer any file (for example a video or a movie) without having to connect a USB cable and without using the clouds.

1) Portal
One of the best apps for transferring files to your smartphone is the Pushbullet Portal, designed with the aim of moving even very large files between PC and mobile phone .
We can download this app for free for both Android and iPhone.

The only prerequisite for establishing the connection is that the smartphone is connected in WiFi to the network to which the PC is also connected. After installing the app, the file transfer process is very simple: just open, on the PC from which we have to transfer the file, the specific Web page reachable here -> Portal Web .
A QR code will appear, to be scanned on the phone via the Portal app: the connection will be made automatically and we can, from the Web page, open any folder and transfer the files to the smartphone quickly and quickly. Pushbullet recommends using this app to transfer any type of file, even those larger than 1 GB, including therefore also videos and movies. In fact, the app and the site allow you to create only a secure channel between your PC and smartphone, then the rest will be managed based on the speed of our WiFi and the capabilities of our modem / router. With this very effective app you can also transfer entire folders of files from PC to mobile, so as to move everything you need without having to connect a USB cable. At the moment this app does not allow to perform the opposite task, that is to send files from the smartphone to the PC.
2) Send Anywhere
Another much more complete app that we can use to transfer files from PC to smartphone (and vice versa) is Send Anywhere, available here -> Send Anywhere (Android) and Send Anywhere (iOS).

To send a file from your smartphone to your PC, simply open the app, select the files or folders to be moved, then generate the 6-digit PIN code, valid for 24 hours. To transfer the file, simply open the Send Anywhere web page and type the code in the Receive field.
To send a file from the PC to the smartphone instead, we will have to open the website indicated above, click on the Send button and select the files to be transferred. Once the files have been uploaded, a 6-digit PIN code will be generated, to be inserted within the app to start the file transfer immediately.
With this app it is not necessary that the devices are in the same WiFi network, even if the fastest transfers take place in these conditions (watch out for traffic consumption when we are in 4G). Currently one of the fastest and most practical methods, which can also be used to quickly transfer files from one smartphone to another (by sharing the generated PIN code or by photographing the QR code).
We can deepen the discussion on this app by reading the Send Anywhere guide to send files of all kinds between mobile phones and PCs .
3) SHAREit
A good alternative to the apps seen so far is SHAREit, available for all smartphones and PCs in our possession from the links present here -> SHAREit (Android), SHAREit (iOS) and SHAREit (Windows and Mac).

By installing this app on the PC and smartphone, we will be able to show the devices on the network and thus decide to share videos, images and simple files quickly and immediately, just select what to transfer and choose the destination device.
With this app we can move files from smartphone to PC and vice versa without problems, thus being able to effectively replace all the other transfer methods such as USB cables and the like.
4) Transfer via FTP
If we want to have more control over the files to be transferred from the smartphone to the PC, we can activate an FTP server on the smartphone and access them from the computer, so that we can add or remove any type of file quickly and quickly. Again the only requirement is that they are in the same home WiFi network.
To activate an FTP server on Android we recommend using FTP Server, available for download from here -> FTP Server .
If instead we want to activate an FTP server on an iPhone, we recommend the FE File Explorer app.
Whatever the app used, simply start the FTP server with anonymous access credentials (so as not to ask for the password) and recover the IP address and port used by the app (clearly visible on the app screen).
Now open Windows Explorer, right click on the screen This PC and click on the item Add network location . Enter the IP address and port number (in the format 192.168.1.X: 12345 ) and click on Next until the FTP server is added to the PC. Now just click on it to get access to the folders of the smartphone, so to transfer with a simple copy and paste all types of files.
