Keyboard for handwriting on Android phones and tablets

Google has released a new writing application for Android smartphones and tablets, which works freehand, as if writing with a pen on a white sheet of paper.
This application can be used to write messages, emails and text in any app and therefore replace the traditional keyboard writing mode, the one with all the letters marked on the screen.
Like all writing apps a little different from normal, to use it effectively and quickly you will need a little practice, in addition to the fate of being able to write in italics, something that some may have even forgotten.

The app is called Google Handwriting is free and can be installed on any smartphone or tablet.
After the download, the first guided configuration is required: enable the telephone keypad, download the Italian language (or other languages), try handwriting and activate it.
When trying to write by hand, you will immediately notice a certain difficulty due to the limited space available on the screen that would be better to put in a horizontal position.
S tablet, of course, there is more space and easier to swipe your finger.
Using your finger you can then draw the characters, letters and punctuation, one by one or, if you can, even linking them together as you would writing on paper with a pen.
If you draw a smiley face or a smiley face, you can also add an Emoji or Emoticon to the text.
At the bottom of the keyboard there are only a few buttons including one (the globe) to switch to traditional writing with the buttons and one (the cloud) to activate intelligent character recognition, to be able to write faster.
Then there is the bar to make space and the key to delete.
You can write without worrying too much about having a nice handwriting because the app works very well in recognizing characters.
As with the pen on the sheet, you can detach your finger from the screen and write one, two or three letters at a time.
What I have found difficult is to write words consecutively and quickly, with the often wrong interpretation of characters.
But maybe it's just a matter of training and, given that this is the first version, there will be sure improvements in the future.
Speaking of freehand, I remember the best apps for writing or drawing with your finger or nib on the screen
