Restore iPhone dead if it no longer turns on or charges the battery

Sometimes even the iPhone can give problems, no longer turn on or no longer charge the battery remaining discharged, dead or turned off, with a black screen or with the apple icon, without hope.
Fortunately, it is always possible to restore the iPhone to the default settings or, in the most serious cases, to reinstall the entire iOS operating system to reset any possible problem (and also to remove a possible jailbreak)
There are several ways to put an iPhone back into operation that no longer turns on or that no longer charges the battery and let's see how to proceed, starting from the simplest to the most complex way where you will need to use a PC or Mac with iTunes installed to restore the iPhone operating system .
This also applies to iPad and iPod Touch .

1) If the iPhone or iPad does not turn on because the battery is not charging, the first solution is to charge it from the off position and wait at least an hour.
Use the dock-USB cable to connect it to the charger (not to the computer) and leave it charging until it reaches 100%.
2) If the iPhone has strange errors but turns on, do a reset and reset
Factory Reset is the easiest and fastest option to recover an iPhone that appears to be dead or unable to charge.
You can then restore the device as a new state, deleting all personal settings, applications and other local data.
Of course, any data that was synced to the iCloud account or to another online service will be restored after logging in with the same user account.
With the iPhone turned on, to perform the normal factory reset of the iPhone, touch the Settings icon on the home screen, go to General, scroll down and find the reset button.
The reset permanently erases all data so that they can no longer be recovered even with specialized software.
2) Restore with iTunes
The process described above only removes personal data and applications, without reinstalling the entire operating system.
If your phone crashes often or has other problems that have not been resolved even with the reset, then some system files may be damaged.
To solve these problems, connect your device to a PC or Mac with iTunes.
iTunes is able to download the device's operating system from the Apple website and automatically reinstall it to start over.
Before doing this, make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes.
Then connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to the PC or Mac with the USB cable (the same as the charger).
Select the device when it appears in iTunes and click on the Restore button.
3) Recovery if it does not turn on or if the battery is not charged - Recovery Mode
If the iPhone does not turn on, you can enter recovery mode (on iPhone 5S, SE, 6 and 6S) by holding down the power button and the Home button together for 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears; as soon as this appears, release the power button and keep the Home button pressed until the iTunes logo appears on the screen with the figure of a USB cable.
At this point, connect the USB cable to the computer and open iTunes to restore and resume charging the battery.
iTunes can detect the device in "recovery mode" and will do all the work autoamatically.
NOTE: on iPhone 7 the keys to be pressed together are the side button and the volume down button.
NOTE 2: on iPhone X and iPhone 8 and 8 plus you must press in sequence (without holding down) the keys: volume up, then volume down and finally the power button keeping it pressed.
4) DFU ( Device Firmware Update ) mode
Putting the iPhone in DFU mode allows you to reinstall the operating system via iTunes, even if the iPhone appears to be dead.
Connect iPhone to Mac or PC and let iTunes open (if it doesn't open, do it manually).
Turn off the iPhone completely by holding down the power button for a few seconds and then turn it back on while holding down the Power and Home buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds (See notes above for iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7).
After exactly 10 seconds, release the power button and hold the Home button until iTunes on your computer detects the recovery mode.
The iPhone screen remains black in DFU mode.
To exit DFU mode, press the Home and Power keys simultaneously until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
