Restore Task Manager, Registry, cmd and Windows functions after virus attack

Everyone, if we use Windows, sooner or later we will face the devastating effects of a virus.
Occasionally the thing is resolved with an antivirus scan but there are times when, despite a virus being removed, the effects remain with system malfunctions that are not easy to repair at all.
Attacking a virus can leave numerous problems on your computer, even when it has been quarantined.
For example, the error that warns the user that the Task Manager has been disabled by the administrator is very frequent.
Other problems prevent you from opening Registry Editor, Command Prompt, Folder Options and you are unable to use several other functions on your computer.
As we have seen, removing a malware or a virus from your computer can be done with automatic programs such as Super Antimalware and Malware Bytes but the restoration of Windows functionality must be done in another way.
The problem is that the virus wants to prevent it from being found and turned off by the user so it becomes impossible to use both the normal antivirus scan, and the task manager (Task management) to terminate the processes, and the Registry to delete the keys created from malware.
Once you get rid of the virus, you can follow different paths to restore the task manager, if it doesn't work even by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL .
In the Windows Professional, Ultimate and Server versions (both on XP and Vista and WIndows 7) it is possible to re-enable the activity management from the gpedit utility, not available in the Home versions.
Going then in Start -> Run or, if this does not work, using the search, you must start the file gpedit.msc .
From the window that opens, follow this path: User configuration -> Administrative Templates-> System -> Options Ctrl + Alt + Del .
Now, in the right section, click on Remove Task Manager, select " not configured " and then press OK .
The second way to rehabilitate the task manager is to use an external program .
First of all, I recommend using the virus removal and recovery functions of Windows functions indicated in the guide against SMART virus.
Excellent is also the Microsoft Safety Scanner tool to remove the effects of a virus.
Another excellent program is Quick Disaster Recovery, a portable tool that does not require installation and is free. This tool was created to repair those problems that are usually left behind, such as annoying memories, from virus and malware infections . It is possible to solve some common problems entirely, and it can also be used as a substitute for the Task Manager in case it is out of order.
Starting this program you will see the options in gray because no problems have been detected (this is good so you avoid making mistakes).
In this case you can only clean up the temporary files and launch the replacement Task Manager. If needed, however, it is possible to re- enable, with a click, the task manager, the registry (regedit), the dos prompt (cmd), the file search, the "Run Program" function, the folder options and the show hidden files . In addition, you can also correct the problem of continuous automatic restart.
Other portable programs to repair Windows are described in another post.
After restoring Windows functions, it may be necessary to clean the registry keys from errors, with a tool put them back and optimize them.
In this case I recommend the use of Registry Life .
This free Windows program not only works as a cleaner as Ccleaner does but also allows you to do automatic optimization and fix internal errors.
another program to repair registry keys is Free Registry Repair which is a bit dated, however.
From the same creators of ERUNT, one of the programs for the advanced registry, backup and defrag, you can also download Erunt which instead serves to automatically optimize the registry and find the errors by solving them.
Theoretically it should now remain all right but, if there were still strange things when restarting the computer, you have to act manually identifying it in the automatic startup paths with Hijackthis.
