Receive free SMS reminders on your mobile from Google Calendar

I have already mentioned Google Calendar as the best online agenda to mark appointments, reminders, meetings, birthdays, scheduled events and personal commitments.
The Google calendar can be used both to organize a group of people for work purposes, and to organize appointments with friends such as dinners or soccer matches or for strictly personal reasons to mark, for example, medical visits or exams.
Google Calendar is the best because it is easy to use, full of functions and because it can be integrated with other programs or external web applications.
One of the most important and exclusive functions (for a couple of years now) is the possibility to receive free reminders of these appointments via sms on the mobile phone .
It is certainly not an exclusive function of Google Calendar because there are other online services with the SMS function, however, not always for free and not valid for Italy (if you know of it, let me know).
The fact of being able to receive sms for free is really an important utility because the reminder received on the mobile phone has another effect than the notification via Email.
To receive a text message at a specific time as a reminder, you must log in to Google Calendar with a Gmail account.
Then go to the settings, to the "cellular configuration" tab and enter your phone number.
Immediately after pressing the button to check the phone number, you receive an SMS on the mobile phone with the confirmation code to be entered in the space provided.
The supported operators are Wind, Tre, Tim and Vodafone.
After checking your mobile phone, you can receive notifications by going to the specific settings of a calendar.
Always from the settings menu, choose the "Calendars" item and then press the "notifications" button.
Here you can choose how long before the event or appointment to receive an SMS and whether to receive them only for new invitations or also for changes to invitations already received, replies and invitations canceled.
For each individual event created on the calendar, these general settings can also change.
Being this a Google service, you can be sure that it is free and that it is safe and nobody will ever receive advertising SMS messages due to this registration.
Evolution of this function is the possibility of receiving the emails arrived in Gmail as SMS on the mobile phone .
I don't think it's possible to use Google Calendar to send messages for free because you can't set up more than one phone number per account (happy to be proved wrong).
For the sending of sms from the internet, other internet sites are indicated on another page.
