Receive Windows XP updates until 2019 with a trick

Official Microsoft support for the Windows XP operating system ended over a month ago.
Thanks to special agreements, some companies and organizations are still receiving updates for the operating system, but this does not apply to normal users.
In addition to these exceptional cases, as already seen in another article on the security risk of ATMs that use XP, there is a version of Windows XP that has support until 2019: Windows XP Embedded .
Well, with a very simple trick it is possible to make Microsoft believe that the PC with Windows XP is a computer with Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 and therefore receive the security updates until 2019 (now the date has passed and XP can no longer be used in no version)
The important thing is to use Windows XP Service Pack 3.
The computer will continue to function properly as it would with normal Windows XP.
The trick only works for 32-bit versions of Windows XP SP3 and not 64-bit versions.
The POSReady system is very similar to normal Windows XP but not 100% identical and the updates are not certified by Microsoft for use on XP.
It cannot be excluded that an update could, in the future, create problems for the system and it is therefore recommended to always keep a backup of important data, so as to be ready for recovery.
The trick to getting updates on XP through 2019 requires only one registry change.
All you need to do is open a new text file with the notepad and paste the following lines into it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ WPA \ POSReady]
"Installed" = dword: 00000001
Then save the file with the name xp-pos.reg and run it.
To make things easier, you can download this zip file, extract it and run the .reg file inside it.
Restart XP and open Windows Update to find new security updates for the POSReady version, which can also be installed on normal XP.
While we are finally, it is also convenient to disable the end of support message in Windows XP
