Effects of resetting network settings

Resetting the network settings returns all the options related to the internet connection, to the original default state that if they were customized, will be reset from the beginning. By original status, we mean that all the settings are changed in order to return to the values of when it was just purchased.
  • Cancellation of all stored wifi networks, including access passwords. This means that after the reset, to connect to the home or office wifi network, you will need to enter the passwords again.
  • On iPhone, Wi-Fi passwords saved in iCloud are also cleared. This can however be avoided with a simple trick: i.e. disabling synchronization on iCloud before resetting the network settings and then reactivating it immediately afterwards.
  • Removal of all associated bluetooth devices, which will then be paired with the phone again.
  • As for the cellular network settings, fortunately, the operator's mobile network configuration data (2G, 3G, 4G or LTE), the MMS and SMS sending parameters are not deleted. The telephone, SMS and mobile network functions will therefore not be changed after a reset (unless manual changes had been made before).
  • Finally, resetting the network settings clears all the settings related to the VPN (server name, password, type of VPN, etc.)
  • Resetting the network settings does not affect the hotspot, wireless screen and AirDrop settings (on iOS)
  • Information recorded and saved on the phone, photos, videos, address book, apps, etc. are not even touched.
