Make WIFI faster by changing only one option

This is not a guide to optimize and better configure the Wifi network so that you can gain a few seconds of speed when uploading websites or completing downloads.
Here we go directly to discover the only trick that makes the difference, the one that allows you to make the wifi as fast as possible, without suffering from intermittent signal or interference caused by the neighbors' wifi.
Basically, before blaming the telephone company that provides us with the internet connection, if the wifi is not as fast as you would expect or what was promised, you need to go and check the settings and, in particular, that of the channel.
Before talking about this setting, however, I would like to summarize what slows down the network speed (wifi or wired) and the internet connection .
The speed of a wifi network is basically influenced by three things:
1) The internet provider, which can be poor or who arrives at our house from too far away (check the internet coverage here)
2) The router is old or malfunctioning or badly configured (see how to speed up the router to optimize the wifi)
3) The signal does not go well to the PC or other devices (see how to amplify the wifi signal).
Except for the first point on which we can't do much (if not change the internet provider), the other two factors have in common the celte s of configuration of the channel, which can really make the wifi faster significantly .
The channel is the road through which the waves of the wireless signal travel.
If too many waves emitted by different wifi routers travel along the canal road, they will cross each other creating interference and slowdowns.
Those who live in the city and have many neighbors are probably using a wifi connection that passes through a crowded channel, which can suffer from interference and therefore slowness.
Changing the channel is therefore the most important configuration that can be done to make a wifi network faster .
For more details on how the channels work, I recommend reading the guide on how to avoid interference on wifi from neighbors' networks .
In summary, if you are using a 2.4 GHz network, there are only three channels to choose from: 1, 6 and 11 .
All the others are so close to being superimposed and they don't change the situation.
You could solve any question of interference by using the 5GHz network, which however is not available on all irouters and which has the defect of having shorter waves, that is, a less long and diffused signal.
To find out which channel our wifi is working on you can use an app like Wi-Fi Analyzer (available on Windows 10 and Android) or another program to find the wireless channel of the wifi network with the most powerful signal, so you can know not only which channel our network uses, but also the channels used by other wifi signals that may have interference.
In Wifi Analyzer, look at channels 1, 6 and 11 trying to understand which is the least used, read which is the channel recommended by the application and change the channel to the router by setting the most free one.
To change this setting, I refer you to the guide to access the router and the router configuration options.
Generally, it is set automatically on routers, so it is better to change the option and set a fixed channel depending on which one is the most free.
To find out if this change is effective and how much, you can measure the internet speed before and after and compare .
