Which type of SSD is better: SATA or PCIe?

Another difference is that PCIe SSDs consume more power, so on laptops they may not be convenient because the battery drains faster.
What NVMe means
NVMe is an abbreviation that appears in the specifications of the PCIe SSD models on sale and stands for Non-Volatile Memory Express .
It is the latest PCIe interface standard that replaces the older AHCI designed for SATA hard drives and SSDs.
NVMe was designed specifically for use with PCIe, so it offers better performance.
What are M.2 and U.2?
M.2 ("M point two") and U.2 ("U point two") are standard factors that specify the shape, size and layout of SATA and PCIe devices.
M.2 is more common and more compatible, therefore preferable.
When using M.2 for a SATA SSD, performance does not change, while for a PCIe SSD, there is the x4 lane limit, which is more than enough for a normal computer.
Also note that x4 SSDs are more common than x2 SSDs and are not much more expensive.
