Programs to resize photos and reduce the size of images

Sometimes, before sending a photo to someone, it is better to resize it so as to make it lighter .
The same requirement is very common for those who manage websites or those who write on blogs, to upload images to the internet.
There are many programs, which I will mention in this article, that work very well to resize many images together, so as to have them all of the same size in terms of pixels.
Having images that are all the same size also becomes a way to make photo movies and collages more orderly.
Even when transferring photos to a digital frame, it is better to first resize them with the screen measurements, so as to take up less memory and put more.
Some of these programs are not only used to resize a set of images but also to crop them or to add a border, text or figure such as a watermark or watermark (such as a recognition mark).

6) ImageResizer is an application designed to resize images quickly and easily, which must be installed on the PC.
You can then right-click on an image icon to find the option to resize it in the context menu.
In the following screen you can choose the reduction level and choose where to save the new reduced file, even replacing the original.
7) Bordermaker is a program ( in Italian ) available for Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, Linux, free and very useful for editing sets of photos with different options.
The images are resized and manipulated by the program in three simple steps: selection of image files, choice of changes to be made, creation.
It starts with the selection of the main folder and BorderMaker automatically processes all the images that are in that folder, and optionally also those that are in the subfolders.
A preview pane can always be displayed to see the effect of each change at any time.
In Settings there are the settings, i.e. the available file manipulation options.
You can then do:
- The resizing of the image by choosing quality and proportions;
- Add text in transparency or superimposition, of various colors and sizes, in the position you prefer, with the source you want, to a set of photos or images;
- Add edges of various thickness, color and with rounded or sharp corners;
- Add a watermark or a figure, or another image in superimpression or transparency, in the position you want, above or below, on the right or left;
- Rotate images and rename them according to various criteria.
Each operation is cumulative, in the sense that you can add a writing, a figure as a watermark and a frame with colored borders to a set of photos that are inside a folder, and rename them all with the date, in an orderly way.
You can also manage the EXIF ​​data of the photos and see a preview of the effects applied, before processing the images.
Obviously the originals will not be deleted or overwritten, the new images will be copies modified or resized as required.
8) Fotosizer is a small free program that allows you to resize the percentage of the width and height of the photos, set a fixed width and height, maintain the proportions, change the quality of the images, do a vertical and horizontal scaling together, perform the various operations even on groups of images.
9) Bulk Resize Pictures is a website where you only have to upload the photo (without downloading programs) to resize and then re-download it in a reduced size.
10) Multiple Image Resizer is a program that, as the name implies, allows you to resize multiple images together .
Although it is very simple, with a more sparse and unattractive interface, this small tool has a lot of options including: resizing images, rotating, cropping a part; it then allows you to add text, to put a figure (another image) in overlap or to put a border around the photo that acts as a frame.
Each processed image can be previewed and an entire folder can be chosen for editing files.
11) Light Image Resizer, (previously it was called VSO Image Resizer) is a free program very valid and full of features, which allows you to resize images with many advanced options.
This program is in Italian and may be of interest to those who hate to always see software written in English.
