We always talk about how to optimize your computer by doing a thousand operations, even often quite complicated for those with less experience, but it would not be all easier with an automatic program "> how to do computer maintenance and fix Windows. In this article we see instead which are these programs, free and capable of optimizing Windows automatically and constantly over time.
1) Glary Utilities is the most popular free program to use for optimizing Windows performance .
Glary Utilities is easy to use and allows, with a few clicks, to correct errors caused by normal use of the computer, to affix the Windows registry, to eliminate obsolete files that only make junk on the disk and many other more functions specifications.
Glary has had an excellent reputation for years, has an automatic PC optimization mode with one click and there is never a risk of making mistakes or causing damage to your computer.
Unfortunately, the free version does not offer constant computer monitoring in the background which can only be unlocked by buying the full version.
2) Ccleaner is not a computer optimization program in general, but it is capable of performing those basic computer maintenance operations in a perfect way, without causing problems and without weighing down the system.
Ccleaner is used to clean the disk from obsolete files, to correct registry errors and then provides several tools to control the automatic start of programs, to find the largest files that take up the most space,

3) IoBit Advanced SystemCare Free is perhaps the most popular competitor of Glary Utilities, not only for the quality of a program that has now reached version 9, but also because it is widely used online by specialized websites and magazines (Iobit invests heavily in advertising) .
Over time, Advanced System Care has become a very reliable program, able to clean up your PC from obsolete files and to correct some Windows configurations that can have a bad impact on performance.
As with any similar program, remember to create a restore point before applying the suggested changes.
4) Windows Tweak programs to modify hidden settings are to be included in this list for their ability to optimize Windows in a very effective way, depending on the changes.
They are not easy to use because they are often in English and in any case not so explanatory in their options, so much so that even an expert may have difficulty understanding everything.
There are, however, exceptions and tools such as Winaero Tweaker or Ultimate Windows Tweaker (described in the linked article), they have been recently renewed also for Windows 10, they can be used with good simplicity.
5) Fix It Microsoft to improve PC performance, only for Windows 7, which allows you to automatically perform those operations to identify and solve problems and to optimize the performance and speed of Windows such as: detection of unnecessary programs running at boot, recover disk space, detect unused programs to remove, clean up cache and temporary files, check programs running in the background.
6) Services Optimizer for Windows 10, 7 and 8.1 is an excellent program to optimize Windows services and stop unnecessary ones.
The result of the optimization process will provide a definite benefit to the speed and performance of the computer.
7) System Mechanic is the trial version of a truly exceptional program, which I would recommend even if it only works by activating the paid license.

System Mechanic automatically checks your computer's memory usage, the presence of obsolete files, registry problems, Windows security, and then network configuration to speed up the internet.
I would not go further in listing programs similar to these above, because other free ones are absolutely not up to par, while for paid ones, such as the popular AVG TuneUP, in my opinion it is not worth it.
Taking into account the slowdowns of a computer (see here the causes of a slow PC) are part of the normal use of the computer which, after some time and after installing various programs, begins to suffer from the presence of old files, too many background processes, the clogging of the registry caused by the installation and uninstallation of many programs, the after-effects of viruses and spyware even if removed and taken care of, the changes to the system configurations especially if not desired.
