Route preview on Google Maps, info on accidents and road works and photo tours

We have already seen how simple it is now to plan itineraries in stages with Google Maps from your PC and then follow the directions in the app on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
Now, by opening the Google Maps site on PC, you can also choose the stages of a trip or a trip using Pegman, the cute little yellow man who indicates the areas visible with Street View.
To facilitate virtual visits and the discovery of interesting places that you do not know, you can write the name of a street or city in the new Google Maps and then, at the bottom of the screen, click Pegman (the little yellow man) to highlight areas covered by Street View virtual tours .
By zooming in on a particular area you can also notice blue dots that indicate spherical or panoramic photos while the yellow circles indicate places photographed inside them such as museums, restaurants or other things.
Pressing the down arrow next to Pegman expands the bar of interesting places that just click to enter 3D mode.
Next to the names of each box you can see, for some, the button to see the photo tour which is an animated journey lasting 10 seconds more or less (this virtual tour only works on Chrome).
So if before it was not known which areas were covered by StreetView, it is now much easier to discover the world of images and be guided to discover new places to visit.
This is only the first of the Google Maps improvements.
From now on, in fact, if you are looking for directions, you can also see a step-by-step preview of the route, with a snapshot of each intersection so that you know exactly where you are going and what to expect.
The third novelty in Google Maps is part of an initial integration with Waze, the navigator app bought by Google a few months ago.
On the road searched with the road signs you will now see the Waze symbols that indicate accidents or works on the road that can slow down traffic at that point.
In this way it is possible to know immediately, in real time, if on the road the reasons for traffic slowdowns and to know the conditions of the road before leaving.
