This list, in truth, is quite simple and reserves few surprises for users who like to stay up to date and inquire about free programs . I want to clarify that the most downloaded ones do not always coincide with the best programs and I remember in this regard the article on the best free antivirus in Italian.
1) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is certainly the most famous antivirus in the world, perhaps because it was one of the first that could be used for free without limitations.

4) Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a gem of software that everyone should have on their computer, to be added to the antivirus for PC protection.
When the computer starts to open the internet alone on casino or online dating web pages, when the internet goes slow and does not allow normal operations, when the PC suddenly slows down without doing anything, scanning with MalwareBytes could prove to be a solution to any problem.

5) AdWCleaner is the most popular and best tool for removing spyware and viruses from web browsers.
6) IObit Malware Fighter is a program that I have never personally used. It is always in the field of antimalware and adds privacy protection functions while surfing the internet. If someone uses it, maybe he could leave a comment about it.
7) Spybot - Search & Destroy has been using it for years and is, for me, one of the indispensable programs to be installed on any computer.

A firewall is a useful security program also against some viruses that want to spread sensitive information externally. Zone Alarm, although the most famous, is by no means my favorite .
Comodo Firewall is much more effective, easier to use and less chunky in terms of the computer resources used.
9) Hotspot Shield is a bit of a surprise on this ranking.

Hotspot Shield is therefore included among the programs to surf anonymously or to use proxies that arise from the real IP address.
This tool encrypts web traffic and is extremely useful for maintaining anonymity on unknown or unsafe wireless networks, when connecting, for example, from hotels, airports and public places. 10) rKill is a less famous security tool, but essential on Windows because it is able to close all suspicious and potentially virus processes running in one go, so that you can then remove them without problems.
Out of the top 10 I noticed that among the most downloaded and paid antivirus there were Nod32 and Kaspersky indicated by me as the best antivirus in general.
Also interesting is the presence of the light Immunet Free antivirus, a little-known but widely used program to increase the power of the anti-virus already present (it does not conflict), of which I spoke some time ago.
