The video game industry now makes more money than the film industry and the games are increasingly realistic, both in graphics and in the dynamics and playability. The games of ten years ago, however, remain milestones in history and I am referring this time to the classic graphic adventures that were played on PCs, on Amiga and on other computers.
The graphic adventures were characterized by scenarios where, with the mouse, you had to focus on the objects, collect them and combine them with regionation to solve the puzzles.
There is nothing better then than finding one of the most famous classics finally released for free for Mac and Windows PC .
Unfortunately, this is not the famous Monkey Island 2 by Lucas Arts but the Sierra game "King's Quest III: To Heir Is Human" .
The new version is a remake called " King's Quest 3 Redux ", slightly changed in some parts, improved in graphics and playability.
Both old and young fans can therefore have fun with this point and click adventure game to download and install for free from the AGD Interactive website.
The version reflects the pixel graphics and few colors of the time (late 80s), with some improvements and the addition of voice recordings.
Maybe the younger ones might find it out of date but I can assure you that, despite not being in 3D, this type of game remains absolutely fun and addicting.
The King's Quest 3 download is 320MB, so I recommend starting to download it and getting ready to play an entire night without ever taking your eyes off the screen.
In King's Quest III there is a rather classic story: a boy named Gwydion is held captive by an evil wizard who exploits him as a slave and who wants to kill him on his birthday.
The goal is therefore to bring the boy to freedom, save the princess until he discovers he is the throne of the kingdom.
To play you use the mouse and the keyboard .
By moving the mouse over the backgrounds, the cursor changes shape when it is moved over an object to interact with.
To move, point and click with the left button while the right mouse button opens the interaction menus.
F5 Save, Tab opens the inventory, F1 Help, CTRL-Q / CMD-Q: Exit the game, the arrow keys make the character walk.
There is also a useful PDF included in the download, which could help you better understand the game.
Unfortunately, this version of the game is only in English and there are no Italian translation packages.
You don't have to be English to play but, of course, maybe you lose a little bit of taste if you don't really chew your tongue.
