Games for kids on Android smartphones to keep them entertained safely

Children, from the first months and at increasing rates as they grow, adore phones and smartphones in particular, feeling an almost innate attraction for these small bright tablets. Leaving the smartphone in the hand of a child, at this point, is all about philosophy and psychology: it hurts or there are no problems "> App for parents with babies to help them with children
1) Airplane mode
First of all, when leaving a cell phone to a small child, you have to detach all the receivers and the fastest way to do this is by activating the Airplane mode.
This makes the smartphone a simple bright laptop that does not transmit any radiation and there are no health risks.
2) Lock the screen
If the smartphone is in the hands of a very young child, perhaps who is not even one year old, it will not be very important to what he sees on the screen and he will only be happy to be able to hold this object so important for parents and adults. By locking the screen, you will avoid any possible tampering.
In another article, how to lock the Android screen safely.
If desired, you could install a nicer lock screen to look at, like one of these lock screens for Android. An important thing to check is that you don't put it in your mouth because the baby's saliva would be fatal for the smartphone.
3) Protections against uncontrolled use
If the child is older and already moves well in the use of the smartphone, new user profiles (in the settings) can be created on Android to protect the data from involuntary attempts to delete it.
4) The store
An important thing to watch out for when leaving your smartphone to an older child is that they don't spend uncontrolled money on Google Play, enabling protection for purchases from the store
4) Block Applications
With Applock you can block the opening of applications that the child should not use. The icons for the games will therefore be left on the home screen, preventing any attempt to access apps such as Facebook, Gmail or others that should not be of interest to the child.
5) Phone lock with game for younger children
With young children, they can only use one blocked app, so they can't do anything else.
For example, one of the most effective can be installed, Toddler Lock, which transforms the screen into a fun palette for drawing. The app installs as your home screen and it's practically impossible to exit. To stop the application you must first touch the 4 corners of the screen clockwise and then press the options button at the bottom left to exit.
Another very nice and fun app is Baby Toy with lock which shows buttons to make sounds and hear animal sounds.
Kids Launcher is a launcher specially made to create a safe area, to control the applications used by children, with nice icons and with the ability to block all the apps on the phone that a child must not use.
Many similar applications exist, although most are very bad because they show advertising banners that will obviously be touched by the child. Airplane mode prevents these advertisements, but it is still better to buy using paid applications that, surely, will not have advertisements inside.
6) Phone lock with apps chosen for older children
Keeping your smartphone stuck on a toy can displease older children who need more stimulation and choice.
An excellent app for Android then is Children Place is an app launcher app that blocks calls and other apps that the child should not use.
Calls are blocked unless you make different choices while the application is in use.
Other similar apps are:
- Child Safety Mode is another launcher that includes a series of educational applications for children, free of charge with limited functions.
- Kids World is a nice child safety sandbox with unique features.
Parents can set a time limit, after which the application closes and locks the screen.
For all these apps I recommend buying the full versions, otherwise they become difficult to use.

  • Endless Alphabet where children can drag letters on the screen using their finger to compose words.
  • Fisher Price nursery rhymes books volume 1 and volume 2, very nice and interactive, in English.
  • App to learn Italian, one of the best of its kind, educational and fun.
  • Fairy tales in Italian told by a narrating voice.

  • Toca Life Hospital .
  • Dr Panda City .

With these applications and games, leaving your smartphone to your children to play will no longer be a problem and since today's children are truly digital natives, keeping them away from technology, in my humble opinion, does not make much sense.
