Android file and application management from mobile and computer

Unlike an iPhone, an Android mobile phone can be managed in many different ways, provided that you have a wifi connection at home and on a Windows 7 computer (the management of the Android phone via cable is in fact much less elastic). A phone with Android in fact behaves almost like a normal computer, where the files are organized in folders in a hierarchical way. Just find a way to enter the phone's file system to view and edit all the files, make backup copies, open them and transfer them.
Among the numerous applications that allow you to do Android file management there are famous apps such as Astro File Manager or ES File Manager (see list of best applications for Android) but there are even easier and more effective programs that not only allow you to manage the files on the mobile phone but also via PC, using the wireless connection at home.
In other articles we have seen that files can be transferred between PC and Android mobile phone via FTP with FTPDroid or, even better, how to manage Android from the computer browser also in reference to the address book, messages, applications, photos, music and all the rest. Another application, on the other hand, allows you to manage Android files and applications both from mobile phone and from computer in different ways .
File Manager is an indispensable tool that allows you to manage all the data on your phone and also to share or transfer it to your computer or the most popular online storage services. File Manager supports tons of options for both connecting and sharing files and apps. What should not be underestimated is that File Manager is completely free, without limitations or advertising and in Italian.
After installing it, the startup screen looks like a browser, with all its main features.
The various tools that allow you to access files, documents intended as images, photos, music, videos, archives and APK packages are listed vertically ( application installation files, installed applications, online files on various services such as Dropbox and Box.net, there are also remote access, document sharing and various other utilities.
The files section allows you to browse the phone data including those stored on the SD card. File Manager supports tabs so multiple folders can be opened together. Touching a folder or file opens a menu with additional options such as, for example, to rename, to archive in a Zip file, to open the folder in a new tab, to add it to favorites or create the shortcut on the Desktop.
The best function is the management of Android applications because it becomes very easy for File Manager to uninstall or backup them or, above all, share them via Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, via SMS or other ways.
File management can also be done from the computer via wifi connection or via bluetooth .
File Manager allows you to connect to another terminal or a computer via FTP, via the web and via Webdav (integrating Android as a Windows network drive disk). For example, if you can enable the HTTP server and then, from a computer, go with your browser to the marked internet address (such as 192.168.1.3:8080) to browse the files and see the photos of the mobile phone. Obviously pc and mobile phone must be connected to the same wireless network. Compared to other programs such as Airdroid, the File Manager web interface is somewhat limited, does not allow copying and pasting and works well only on Internet Explorer.
FileManager can also enable the FTP server function so then, from the PC it is possible to connect via a simple FTP client (see the best FTP programs for Windows).
Through the wifi reception function or via bluetooth, it is also possible to share files with another Android phone in which File Manager is installed. With File Manager you can also enter the folders of a Windows PC that has activated file sharing with reverse connection, to transfer files from the PC to the phone.
In the File Explorer settings it is possible to enable the Root Explorer (only for Android phones with root) to navigate the system folders.
Under the app management setting item you can configure an automatic backup of new applications so File Manager also becomes part of the list of applications for Android backup.
Overall, File Manager is a complete file and application management program on Android and is the only app that supports simple file transfer from PC to phone and also from phone to phone via wifi.
File Manager is one of the best file manager applications for exploring files and folders together with ES file manager.
As mentioned at the beginning, there are still excellent alternatives and better applications for managing an Android mobile phone from the PC (in wifi or USB) to transfer files, contacts, SMS and applications
