Convert Excel to Word file to insert tables into documents

The Word and Excel programs within the Office suites, although different from each other, can be integrated in different ways.
In fact, nothing prevents you from inserting a table into a Word file or from copying text written with Word into an Excel table.
In this article we see how to convert an Excel file to a Word file or insert a table or graph into a document.
This operation cannot be done automatically with Office programs, but instead requires proceeding by copying the Excel table into the document or using external online file format conversion tools.
To bring an Excel table into a Word file proceed as follows:
Select all cells with data (by pressing the CTRL-A keys) and press CTRL-C to make Copy (or use the Copy option from the Edit menu).
In addition to being able to copy and paste data from an Excel sheet into Word, you can also copy a chart from an Excel sheet and insert it into a Word document.
On the Word document, click on the point of the document where the table is to be inserted, press at the top on Paste .
If you want more options to import the data according to different formats, you can press the arrow key under Paste and click on Paste special .
In the second case, a link is created so that the changes to the table made on Word are also replicated on the Excel file and vice versa.
After pasting the table, press the Paste Options button which can be seen at the bottom right of the table.
If this option button does not appear, you must enable it in the Word options, under Advanced Settings> Cut, Copy and Paste, activating the " Show buttons for the Paste function " option.
In the options of the table you can choose whether to keep the formatting that it had in Excel or whether to adapt it to the formatting of the Word document.
When inserting an Excel table into a Word file, it is also possible to create a link so that changes to the table made on Word are also replicated on the Excel file and vice versa.
In the Paste Special options you can choose whether to paste as text or as a link, which takes the changes from the table of the Excel file.
In the case of a chart to be imported into Word, the Paste options allow you to choose whether to insert the chart as an image, as a chart connected to the Excel table, or as an embedded chart.
In case you want to find a more automatic solution to convert an Excel XLS or XLSX file to Word DOC or DOCX file there are some online tools that are also capable of doing the reverse operation and converting a Word document into an Excel table.
The most popular site for doing this type of operation is Zamzar.com, which has already been mentioned several times among the best sites to bookmark.
You can then load the Excel file and choose to convert it to Word file by choosing the .doc format.
After a few minutes you will be able to receive the new Word document via email which will look similar to the original Excel, keeping the formatting of tables, text and images.
Although Zamzar is the best, I also tried other online Excel to Word file converters including Coolutils, easy and immediate, where you can upload an xls or xlsx file to get it back with the doc or docx format.
The final file is downloaded in a compressed zip format.
In my attempt, the formatting of text and tables gets lost a little.
Watermark-Images.com is another site that allows you to easily convert an Excel table into a Word file online for free, which maintains the formatting of the text and also of the tables that become normal tabular data in Word.
Finally, we also mention Docx2Doc.com capable of converting Excel to DOC Word online and for free.
This site maintains the formatting of the text in the output Word file, with all the data in the form of a table.
