Uninstall Office and complete removal without errors with Microsoft Fixit

Office is perhaps the program that gets installed the most on Windows computers around the world. Almost always, when buying a new computer at the mall or the laptop, Office is pre-installed in a trial version (at the end of the trial period it requires to be bought, otherwise it becomes unusable).
Theoretically, when you want to remove Office from your computer and then completely uninstall the various Word, Excel, Powerpoint that are part of the Microsoft suite, just use the standard procedure and there should be no problems.
Sometimes, though, not infrequently, there are problems and you get an error during the normal uninstall procedure of Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 or 2010 .
For this reason, Microsoft has released an automatic and official tool that completely removes Offic from the computer without leaving any trace and thus allowing a (possible) clean re-installation.
This official and automatic fix-it is truly a salvation in all cases where:
- You want to delete the trial version of Office because you don't intend to buy it;
- If you want to remove Office 2003 or Office 2007 to install Office 2016 or 2019 (see also when a program is not installed because there is another version);
- When Word, Excel and Powerpoint programs have frequent problems and errors and you prefer to try a reinstallation ;
- When you stop the Office installation process with an error, leaving the program partially installed and not working .
This automatic Fix-it is important because for Office it is not convenient to use non-Microsoft external programs (such as uninstallers) as the program is integrated into the system and you risk deleting Windows files.
The standard procedure for removing Office is typical for uninstalling any other program:
On Windows 10 and Windows 7 you can use the Search field from the Start menu, writing programs and starting the Programs and Features utility.
Scroll down the list until you find the Office package and press the Uninstall button. However, if there are anomalies and malfunctions that interrupt or prevent such uninstallation, you can resort to Microsoft's automatic removal tools .
The Fixit to uninstall Office is a stand-alone program that requires no installation and can be launched on any Windows computer. It can be used in case the normal uninstallation through the Windows tool should fail or have problems.
The Fixit removes the Office suite in its entirety but does not uninstall other separately installed programs such as Microsoft Visio, Project or others that are not included in the package. Depending on the Office program you want to remove, you can download one of the following tools:
  • Uninstaller for Office 2003
  • Uninstaller for Office 2007
  • Uninstaller for Office 2010
  • Uninstaller for Office 2016 and 2019
After the download, run the uninstall tool, follow the wizard always pressing ok or next and wait for the automatic correction that removes Office, all the files connected to it and the registry keys .
