Create IP and network settings profiles if your PC connects from different places

If you use the computer, the same PC in multiple physical places, probably, every time, you have to change the parameters to access the internet . For example, a consultant, not just a computer scientist, could use the same computer both when he goes to work and if he is at home while a student probably takes his laptop to university to surf the internet.
Whatever the case, you can change the network settings on the fly : the IP address, the gateway, the subnetmask, the DNS parameters and the proxy, with some small and useful programs.
Without repeating the concepts already expressed, on this occasion I would like to point out other excellent free programs for storing various network profiles on the computer in order to use one or the other according to what is needed at the moment.
1) Netcon Manager is used to set the network parameters for each connection so you can change it when necessary, without having to rewrite the various IP addresses or the proxy by hand.
In the very comfortable graphical interface, the name of the profile is written, the network used by both the cable and the wireless network, the ip addresses, if it is the profile to be used as the default, that is, as the default and with a button to disable all the addresses fixed because DHCP (automatic assignment) is active.
2) Advanced Network Configurator for Windows is an excellent tool for creating different sets of network settings with IP, Gateway and DNS, for up to five network profiles.
All values can be easily changed in the interface by adding and the changes are automatically saved by the program.
To switch to a different profile select it from the list and press the button at the top.
3) NetSelector instead is an opensource program that also allows you to set the proxy address and network sharing parameters (files and printers)
The only flaw is that it needs the .Net Framework 2.0 already installed and for some it may not be good news.
The graphical interface is very convenient, the network profiles are saved and can be called up individually when needed.
4) NetProfiles is another very light and useful opensource software to change when you need the computer's network profile to connect to the internet from different places.
5) TCP / IP Manager is a small opensource software that allows you to configure different network profiles with different connection parameters so you can change them with a click.
The program has the ability to manage up to 10 different profiles with individual TCP / IP settings and no matter where you are, at home or at work, it tracks the network configuration in various locations.
TCP / IP Manager can be downloaded for free and consumes less than 500 KB of hard disk space.
6) TCP Profiles Manager allows you to configure different network profiles to be stored and used, alternatively, when needed.
For each profile you can set the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS.
7) IP Shifter is a simple free program that is easy to configure, to create various network profiles complete with IP addresses, DNS and other information such as the proxy for Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Switching from one profile to another is a matter of two clicks, so the tool is perfect for those who often have to change configuration.
The program also includes tools such as pinging, network scanning and IP detection tools.
8) NetSetMan is the most famous program in this category, full of configuration options for storing network parameters, even with the ability to change them automatically in time.
The only flaw is that some of its functions are blocked in the freeware version.
Other other similar programs are paid, so they are to be avoided, but if there are other reports, perhaps of more powerful software with more functions, the comments are freely available.
In another article, how to set fixed and static IP address, store it and change IP with a click .
