What to do with optional Windows updates?

We have said several times, as in the article on how to solve the installation problems of Windows Update updates, how indispensable, for reasons of computer security, that Windows Update works automatically and installs the important updates released every week by Microsoft.
However, it sometimes happens that Microsoft releases updates classified not as important, but as optional, which do not install automatically but require manual intervention.
A regular user who uses the PC may also never notice these optional updates if he does not open Windows Update and select them for installation.
Optional updates include, usually, patches to fix small bugs that lead to computer crashes, minor tool updates, driver updates, patches for Office programs and various types of adjustments, which do not concern computer security, do not are considered important and mandatory.
These updates are very infrequent and, usually, after installing them the first time, it will be difficult to see them, except in rare cases.
April 22, 2015 is one of these rare cases, the day when Microsoft even released 34 patches for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows server 2012 (the number may vary depending on the version, for example on my PC there are 21)
The question is: what are these optional updates, we must install them or not "> uninstall Windows updates that cause errors in a fairly simple way, also because the system always creates a restore point before they are installed.
As mentioned above, optional Windows updates are not considered critical, are not security patches and are therefore automatically installed .
In general, updates are intended to fix problems in Windows.
From the Control Panel, icon view and open Windows Update to find out how many optional updates are available.
To find out what they are for and what they do you can select one of the optional updates, and click on the More information link located in the column on the right side of the window.
For example, I noticed that one of them solves Wi-Fi connectivity problems, one the automatic brightness problem, another the print capacity and other very specific ones such as that to support copying mkv files from a Windows Phone phone.
As mentioned above, it is worthwhile, every now and then, to check if there are new optional updates and then install them.
However, those who think they do not want to risk problems on their work computer or on a server, if they do not have problems and do not suffer from sudden blockages or malfunctions, can be ignored and left where they are.
